Pacific was robbed by its own conference. How can they take LMU which finished 2 games behind Pacific in the WCC? And Santa Clara had 3 bad losses versus sub .500 teams and also finished behind Pacific in the standings - Pacific had no bad losses. Pacific also should have got in over Seton Hall - Tigers had a better RPI. Really tough break for the Pacific Tigers!

You're going to need to convert to centimeters for me. I just had metric bypass surgery.

How good Fla. State? I really like BYU's chances against Arizona, not sure how they stack up against FSU.

Quality wins likely were more influential than bad losses, but agree that the Tigers would have been a better pick than Seton Hall. LMU and Santa Clara had a number of wins vs. top 50 teams, including UCLA (LMU) and Duke (SCU), and Santa Clara swept BYU at home. Nevertheless, the WCC getting 4 teams in is a good showing for the conference.

And Santa Clara had 3 bad losses versus sub .500 teams and also finished behind Pacific in the standings - Pacific had no bad losses. Pacific also should have got in over Seton Hall - Tigers had a better RPI. Really tough break for the Pacific Tigers! It is a tough break for Pacific, as it was for St. Mary's in a similar situation last year, and everybody recognized it. For the past couple of weeks, trojansc has predicted exactly what would happen with WCC teams and tournament bids, and it played out almost exactly as he envisioned, even though he really thought Pacific deserved to be in. Here's the excerpt from his Bracketology thread (I think Michigan State was the only team he called wrong): (42) Loyola Marymount is in because they have two big, maybe one top-25 wins over UCLA & LBSU, and two more top 50 wins to make it 4 wins vs. top 50. No bad losses over 100+, LMU should be in. But not by thaat much!(48) Michigan State is out because the RPI is just out of range and there isnt enough to supplement. MSU has only two top 50 wins, evrything about their resume is just average. Nothing really stands out to argue them in so.... OUT! (38) Hawaii is in because they didnt lose to anyone they shouldnt have. They finish with 2 top 50 wins like Mich St, but 10 spots better in RPI, a 9-1 finish, you can't really leave Hawaii out. They should be sent to Oregon or Washington. (44) Ohio is out because their resume is not that good. It's not that bad, but it's hard to really argue for. They are right at the cutoff line for RPI Only one top 50 win, they do have an 8-2 finish but lost their last two games, including to 100+ RPI Western Michigan. The wins are missing from Ohio's resume. I think OUT. For the Final Four Teams IN and the Final Four Teams OUT... Bad News First (56) Purdue is out because the RPI is too high, and 4 top 50 victories arent good enough to make up for it with no top 25 victories. Not a great finish to the season, Purdue is out. Weak SOS and OOC. (41) SMU is out because they have one top 50 win and not much behind that. Extremely weak OOC, but 9-1 finish with solid RPI and their one victory is Oklahoma, which is a top-25 win. Still, I can't see SMU in over teams with a better victory and more to support it. Therefore, Southern Methodist is OUT! (45) Cal State Northridge is out because of their poor finish. Losing three BWC games to weaker 100+ rpi teams for a 6-4 finish with four top 50 wins. I think I could be missing here, but CSUN played itself out of the NCAA's. The 45 RPI is borderline but their performance as of late puts them out. This was a very hard decision. Good News (46) Santa Clara is in because they have SIX top 50 wins! Combine that with a top-25 win and a 7-3 finish, I can't leave them out. Their profile is similar to CSUN, but better victories and a better finish in my opinion. Whew - Santa Clara should JUST get in.
(43) San Diego is in because they have 5 top 50 wins with a good SOS. I'm forgiving the sketchy losses because of the SOS and good wins, overall body of work is just squeaking San Diego in.(47) Seton Hall is in because they are impressive of late and they beat the #1 and #2 Big East teams twice. Marquette(x2), Creighton(x2). Marquette is top-25, so two top 25 wins, four total top 50 wins, a 9-1 finish And impressive victories along the way, I think Seton Hall is the second to last team in the NCAAs. The Last Two (49) Pacific is unfortunately the last team out. I wanted to see them in, but they have a weak SoS, relative weak OOC, and four top 50 wins but none top 25. I want to let them in, but the resume just isn't good enough. Nothing is bad besides the SOS, but none of the wins are dazzling. Hopefully I am wrong and Pacific gets in, but through everything I've got on paper, they are out. Read more: volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/56640/final-trojan-bracketology-11-29#ixzz3KcNzymxI

To put it in its starkest perspective: Bakersfield, with a stellar RPI of 204, is the opening lamb for Stanford. Good lord, what a fiasco.

I watched this show for the first time ever, and, WOW, you can sure learn a lot from the experts. For instance, did you know that a lot of these girls are over 6' tall? And Merate Lutz is over 6' 3" And that girl named "Haleigh" who plays for Washington is really good.
