Will final results be posted? Trying to see if I made top ten which was my goal. Missed 10 I think.

Wow! What a nice Christmas Present. Thanks to publius and vbbetterthanbb for providing PTW and keeping me engaged in Women's Volleyball week in and week out. And 'Merry Christmas' to the VolleyTalk Community; may Santa put something (some one) in your stocking to add to your favorite team next year.

...1 / 3 / 6 / 8 / 8 / 8... I like the scaled scoring... ...2 points for an underdog win and 1 point otherwise... Comparing results with various weighted (by round) scoring methods: Even Weight Weighted Weighted Weighted 1-1-1-1-1-1 1-2-3-4-5-6 1-2-4-8-16-32 1-3-6-8-8-8 55 coloradokidd 104 gnu2vball 170 gnu2vball 158 gnu2vball 54 orangeknight 102 coloradokidd 162 FreeBall 157 FreeBall 54 FreeBall 102 FreeBall 159 coloradokidd 156 coloradokidd 54 gnu2vball 100 orangeknight 156 mclvbdad 152 orangeknight 53 austintatious 97 austintatious 156 orangeknight 150 mclvbdad 52 kbenz1 97 mclvbdad 152 austintatious 146 austintatious 52 aapl820169 96 bayarea 151 bayarea 145 bayarea 52 baywatcher 95 aapl820169 150 aapl820169 143 aapl820169 52 bayarea 95 dcvbfan 149 MTC 142 MTC 52 dcvbfan 94 MTC 149 dcvbfan 142 dcvbfan 52 smartpatrol 93 bmil87 148 bmil87 141 bmil87 51 Alberta 93 smartpatrol 147 smartpatrol 138 smartpatrol 51 MTC 92 tclenpsu1 145 treblejig 138 tclenpsu1 51 FTLOG 91 treblejig 144 trianglevb 136 14u2nv 51 cajun 90 trianglevb 143 bhott 136 treblejig 51 gobucky 89 (multiple) 143 tclenpsu1 136 gobucky- gnu2vball did well in weighted scoring being the only one picking BYU in the final - mclvbdad also scored well in weighted scoring by picking BYU to win the region - so, to take big advantage in weighted scoring this year, picking BYU to go far was the key IMHO, a weighted scoring that does not over-reward or over-penalize is perhaps 1-1-1-1-1-2, but with that the final standing for the PTW-NCAA contest would be pretty much the same! Strictly, and only, for curiosity, next year I might (meaning: not a promise) publish hypothetical results based on various level of bonus points for underdog picks.

I am just so amazed I even made the above list. I must be learning something.

Turns out I can readily do a handicapped scoring as follows:
A correct pick that all 93 participants had also picked gets 94-93= 1 point A correct pick that nobody had picked gets 94- 0=94 points
So for example, - 6 people picked BYU to win the region, each of them would get 94-6=88 points for that pick - all 93 people picked Stanford over CSU Bakersfield, so each would get 94-93=1 point for that pick
Leader board based on that scoring:
1014 gnu2vball 1013 coloradokidd 945 austintatious 926 FreeBall 899 gobucky 892 orangeknight 885 baywatcher 856 kylewise1983 829 bayarea 815 mclvbdad 805 smartpatrol 790 tclenpsu1 789 dcvbfan 783 kbenz1 764 aapl820169
The leader board just isn't much different than the official 1 point per pick scoring.

Publius and vbbetterthanbb you both are a wonderful credit to the volleytalk community. Thank you so much for the hours you contribute to this board by running this contest. It is so much fun to play and makes me really pay attention to alot of different teams. You have been doing this for several years now and every year I try to thank you. Regards, bigfan
