My guess is that Scott Wong will probably have someone in mind to take over the sand team before he bails. Can`t see him just leaving the girls high and dry with no coach.

I think "good looking" is at the top of his criteria list, although he whiffed on that with Howard Wallace and Charlie Wade. Also, under the wrong light and from a certain angle, Mike Sealy looks absolutely hideous. What about their previous volunteer coach? Can't remember his name, but he is easy on the eyes as well. Kaleo Baxter?

I wonder if Charlie Wade would agree to be the Associate Head Coach for the women's indoor team for a year, contingent on succeeding Shoji upon the latter's retirement.

I think Kevin Wong will be a great choice for the associate coach job in addition to being HC of the sand team. I mean just a couple of years ago Scott recieved criticism from fans as a drop off from Sealy, which some fans thought they hired the wrong brother. Other options for the associate coach job would be Tom Pestolesi, Matt Anderson, Kawika Shoji, Stein Metzger. The major lost here is to the sand bows as I have Ll the confidence in Shoji to bring in another IMPACT coach, hope the sand bows and Shoji find someone Great.

Why the hell is the sand vb under Shoji? Why does Shoji have any say on the hiring of its coach? It's a separate sport! Was there some arrangement made between UH and Shoji that the sand vb team would come under Shoji's control?

maybe ah-mow-santos gets promoted to "associate" head coach. and the team turns to filling her "assistant" coach position instead.
this was touched on in one of the articles in the local paper. i'm surprised it hasn't gotten more traction.

Or possibly AhMow-Santos gets promoted to associate coach & Ali Longo is hired as Assistant Coach.

usually after the wahine are bounced from the tournament, the hawaii fans scatter ... who woulda thought there'd still be so much for its fans to talk about still ... Thanks to Wolfgang.

No offense to Ah Mow-Santos, but does she does not have the proven recruiting/connections that Sealy and Wong established at their previous schools. Hawaii needs someone that can recruit. Sealy and Wong brought in great classes for Hawaii. Don't think Ah Mow-Santos has that right now...
And no offense to Ali Longo, but Hawaii can do better than elevating someone like her right away.

It doesn't appear that Ah Mow- Santos like traveling to all club tournaments to recruit and Shoji goes but it seemed like Wong did 95 percent of the recruiting, UH needs someone that likes to recruit and be out on the road.

I believe only Taylor will be playing both indoor and sand this year.
