I like that the team is spending a lot of time at Gregory. Doesn't seem like the toughest non conference schedule, but looking forward to Nebraska and Florida at Gregory.
As expected there will not be any volleyball on Saturday, 9/12 since the football team has their home opener that day. Also, very pleased that the OU home game has been scheduled for Sunday during Texas/OU football weekend. We will be able to travel to Dallas for the State Fair and Saturday football game and return to Austin on Sunday for the volleyball match. Love the way the programs work with each other to schedule games for the benefit of Longhorn fans.

With Nwanebu commuting to Texas now, I see next year's starting lineup as: OH: Paulina and Yazzie/White (DS: personally I hope Dalton, but take your pick) MB: Ogbogu and McCage Opp: Nwanebu (DS: Brooks) S: Collins L: McCoy
i understand a lot of people do not think Collins is built for a 5-1 but I think she'll do just fine.

So you're gonna shank a ton of balls while letting opposing outsides tee off on Collins' block in transition? If you're playing a tiny setter in the front row, you HAVE to pass dimes.

Providing everyone is healthy, we will run a 6-2 offense. All starters remain the same except at the pins; options include Amy, Paulina, Yaz, Ebony, and Micaya. Amy might be the senior, but Jerritt has never hesitated to pull her from the court when she struggles.
Having two 6'4 right side hitters/blockers like Ebony and Yaz would be ideal for me. They would also get swings from the left side, I imagine, as did Khat and Paulina last season.
If we have to run a 5-1 due with Collins due to Dalton's health, then one hitter has to spend more time on the bench.

Is Neal no longer an option? Personally, any line-up where Neal is on the bench is the best option.... I see Paulina playing all 6 rotations like she did this spring, and Yazzie/White can be DS'd by either incoming freshmen Beard/Gilbert.

There would only be one rotation where a freshman would have to pass, and even then, you could sub Paulina out in the back if needed

Nwanebu will probably be the best passing pin at Texas in 2015. It will be interesting to see if Elliott entertains the idea of playing Nwanebu 6 rotations if they have to run a 5-1. I just do not think Dalton will be 100% to start season.

Collins is pretty mobile, so maybe quarters will do.

She has the same skill set as Sha'Dare McNeil, not as quick, but a better terminator. She did not really play in back row last year at USC do to injury so she is probably rusty but has good passing fundamentals. She also is 6'5" and that can cover a lot of space.
