Slot Molly at Opp. and have the other 3 MB's not named Chiaka battle for the vacated spot.
There's enough left in the cupboard to move on just fine without Pilar.

Interesting. I wonder if it's too late to pick up an elite transfer. A solid L2 would be nice! All 12 scholarships (*) are being used right now. But I think they could have room for a transfer if Sara Hattis continues to play basketball her senior year and/or if Tiffany decides to retire and goes on a medical hardship scholarship. Tiffany Baker – SR * Molly McCage – SR * Kat Brooks – SR Amy Neal – SR * Sara Hattis – SR * Chiaka Ogbogu – JR * Paulina Prieto Cerame – JR * Chloe Collins – JR * Nicole Dalton – JR * Cat McCoy - SO Kate Palladino - SO Mirta Baselovic – SO * Yaazie Bedart-Ghani – FR * Micaya White – FR * Morgan Johnson – FR * Lauren Beard - FR Natalie Gilbert - FR On a side note, I was always wondering where a scholarship would open up since there were 3 incoming freshmen and 2 graduating seniors. I guess these things have a way of working themselves out....

Well when you can't beat out Amy Neal at OH . . .
Victoria can't say she wasn't given a chance at Texas. She earned the starting OH in '14 but couldn't hold on to it. Her hitting was inconsistent and her defense regressed as the year went on. After the OU loss when she started in place of an injured Neal, and had a poor match, she was never the same. Looked like a lack of confidence.
Just guessing she saw the talent coming to Texas and decided to move on which again would indicate a confidence issue. Good luck to her and hope she can turn it around at Arkansas.

Hattis is BB.She (McCoy) was not on scholarship last year; remember the big story on how a scholarship was available, but I do not know if she is on in 15 or just 16 & 17.

I think it's good for Pilar to move on. She had some good moments for Texas, but consistency just wasn't there.
No way does Chiaka move out of the middle; that is the surest of any bet I'd place with regards to the 2015 lineup.
It will be interesting to see what occurs with Sara Hattis. Although she is on a hoops scholarship for the Spring, the basketball team signed 3 recruits for 2015-16, and that will put them at the maximum 15 scholarships (not counting Hattis) unless there is attrition. Wouldn't surprise me if she transferred, as well, but she only has one season of eligibility remaining in volleyball.
Micaya White and Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani are talented enough to start as true freshmen; just depends on how quickly they adjust to the college game. Not sure if either of them or Morgan Johnson enrolled this semester, but with Hattis and Victoria vacating their 'ships, and Haley going pro, one would think early enrollees were a possibility (if planned).

The freshmen are playing with their clubs this spring, Micaya and Morgan with TAV 18 Black and Yaazie with Mizuno Long Beach 18 Rockstar, so no early enrollees this spring. The soonest they will be on campus is during the summer session, unless they try-out and get selected for USA volleyball.

I could be wrong, but I think you are wrong. I thought there was a segment on the LHN where Elliot talked about McCoy being on scholarship?
Kat Brooks gave up her scholarship before the beginning of the season to free it up for Prieto.

Also, attrition in the BB program is expected. A lot of competition for playing time at the guard position even with all the injuries this season.

So what's the projected starting lineup with the outside depleted a little bit like it is? Does Paulina move back to the left? Do either of the freshman play 6 rotations? Does anyone play six rotations?

I'm pretty sure Cat McCoy is on scholarship. Texas officially announced the signing of her LOI along with Mirta's back in November 2013. Don't think you do that for walk-ons.
Hoping for the best for Tiffany Baker, but if she doesn't get healthy by the end of the Spring/Summer, I can see her going on medical hardship scholarship.
While Neal has made very good contributions, if she is our go-to left-side hitter in 2015, we are in trouble as she can't hold up physically getting the most swings on the squad.

It is an absolute shame that Hattis has blown three years of eligibility without much to show for it. She had so much promise. Why was she not red-shirted at some point?

I thought Khat bell went on a BB scholarship to free up for prieto. That was my understanding as well. The fact that Bell never actually joined the basketball team showed the move to be the subterfuge that some suspected as soon it was revealed last fall.

OK, I am wrong on what I thought took place for Paulina to receive scholarship last year. I went back and read through the Texas 2014 thread and Bell gave up scholarship and took BB scholarship is what it said.
But one of your Posts said Brooks was on scholarship so it would have to be Brooks or McCoy.......I don't know myself.
