First I apologize in advance. I was going to wait to start this thread out of respect to the 4 teams still playing. But, I didnt want the PSU/UW thread ger bogged down with talk about next year, so here we are.
So, for those living in a cave: lose Chapman, Morales, Kvas, Workman, Mikaelsen, Thompson, Thomas. 3 starters.
Gain: Saunders, Williams, Duello, MacDonald, Juley, Morgan
Potential starters from that group: Duello, MacDonald, Williams
Potential Redshirt: Juley
Morgan was also hurt until late in prep. Maybe she would redshirt.
So, by position: Rs: Kriskova, Fricano (or Oh) Saunders OH: Bates, Duello S: Carlini, Juley x2 MB: Nelson, Blake, Williams, Morgan DS/L: Morey, MacDonald
Discuss. .

Saunders plays RS. Morgan is a MB - if you haven't seen Morgan play she is very impressive. 6'5 and is very mobile and a good athlete. has a great slide. she reminds me of Abby Cole.

Fixed. So what do we think as far as big ten finish? Anywhere between 2-6 would be my guess. And who takes it? Imo, nebraska could cause some scares next year and beat penn state, who lose their most valuable player

As long as WI has the world's best overall player in Carlini, and she stays healthy, all will be good in Madison.

big10 will be a very deep conference next year and the best in the country.
Illi has some good recruits coming in. Minnesota has SSS and the emergence of the Tapp sisters. Nebraska has two good recruits coming in. I think Purdue and Ohio State will also be better. Penn State will be good, I'm not sure if they will be better with loss of backcourt and Micha, but they will obviously be very good.
I think it will come down to the same four teams though: UW, Illi, Nebraska and Penn St, who will all be top 10.

My predictions for starters:
MH: Haleigh Nelson MH: Tori Blake or Williams (Blake will have the college experience on her side) OH: Kelli Bates OH: Romana Kriskova (if healthy) RS: Taylor Fricano S: Lauren Carlini L: Taylor Morey DS: Amber McDonald (backrow for Fricano)
I predict they will be at the top of the BIG along with Nebraska, Penn State, OSU & Illinois

The Buckeyes will have significant losses too. Sherwin, Sekinger, and Winner, who was one of their passers.

I think someone will step into that Libero position and be fine. The key is all Brianna

As for the Badgers, they will have a lot of youth and inexperience, so I expect growing pains at any rate. They will also be really limited in what they can do this spring due to a lack of players, which doesn't help. I still think Blake and Fricano have a lot of upside, but we haven't been able to see much from them. All in all, I think it adds up to a big question mark. I don't see the program going away any time soon, but any time you have this much turnover and some questions with injuries, you just don't really know. I am hoping we can avoid crappy weather in August so they can have a full scrimmage so we can get an idea of where the team is before the season starts. With the inexperience they have, I hope they schedule an uncharacteristic mid week non-conference match to gain more experience, as I think they will continue to have two weekends where they only play twice.

They have 2 PAC matches at home as well as Notre Dame, is that right?
I am hoping for a tourney or match in driving distance. Iowa State or UNI would be nice. Heck, even Illinois State. I enjoyed watching them.
I expect a 2004 type of season, but a little better during conference than that team.
As far as spring, can the current seniors scrimmage? Otherwise how on earth do they practice unless they are using brooms for blockers.
And I think Duello will start.

The spring lineup will have to be: Carlini Setter Nelson MH Blake MH Kriskova OH Bates OH Fricano RS Morey Libero
with Erin Juley most likely playing back row for Fricano. So it is really not too off from their potential lineup. Not to mention they return their starting outside, setter, libero and middle people. They will have minimal growing pains plus Kraskura is an incredibly experienced player.

Most the talent next year are young. They had brown and Wilson on that team. Along with Dierrico as Libero. The freshman were mclenden and slay. Great leadership that year. In my opinion that team was prob easier for carpenter Carp was a very intelligent vb player. It has yet to be seen is Brianna is like that.

Carp was def one of the shorter setters in psu history. She wasn't a true setter though. I believe she was a defensive specialist who they had set cause they had nobody else. Glass graduated year before and micha came in year after
