Don't think Stanford lost too many from their #1 recruiting class either. Not sure

Ok, so we'll agree on just 8 transfers in the last 3 years......

I think it's certainly fair to question why Nebraska has had so many reserves transfer the last few years and if they feel it's an issue. Maybe someone will do that soon.

Simpson (All-American, All Pac-12) Pendergast (started, then Played at A & M) Setter - Who came to California For the setter I can only think of Sieckmann ; who originally transferred to Wayne St. (2012), then...

That's why I brought it up. Nothing against Nebraska, it just seems like alot of kids leaving. When 4 kids left Tennessee 2 or 3 years ago, there was a blog, scrutiny, questions, internet interviews, etc. Just asking.

Does it really matter if they were all starters or not? They were all recruited.

Not everyone can be happy, and IMO they shouldn't be, by being a "reserve" for 4 years when they could be a full time starter at another school.

Does it really matter if they were all starters or not? They were all recruited. It probably matters to them.

I think it matters because they wouldn't be transferring if they were starters. The only player who was a starter at Nebraska and transferred was Dykstra because she wanted to just play beach. I think one of the reasons there are so many transfers compared to in the past is because talented players are not content with sitting on the bench. In the past, players were content being part of great teams and not getting lots of playing time.

Random Thoughts about NE's Roster last season: Something I thought about last season was that NE could almost field 2 complete teams in the B1G, and IMO the 2nd team wouldn't finish at the bottom of the B1G. Overall - A very strong roster.

A valid point, but what about the complaint I hear from people on this site that these student athletes should be choosing the best university that fits them? I totally get that most all girls prefer to start. Several people complain on here about early recruits and how can they possibly know what college/major would be best for them. The above argument kinda implies they should be picking a school they can start at instead of what is best academically for them.

Simpson (All-American, All Pac-12) Pendergast (started, then Played at A & M) Setter - Who came to California Pendergast (who wasn't a starter) still comes back to Lincoln to visit. She loves the program, players and coaches, but she knew she wasn't going to start over Dykstra. Simpson's transfers say less about Nebraska than they do about her desire to play at as many schools as possible. If she would have stayed at Nebraska, she wouldn't have seen the court until her senior year. Your take on Simpson is completely ignorant. You know nothing about what was going on and have zero reason to cast her in such a negative light.

Two Thoughts:
1) Students should evaluate the "educational" opportunity first, but reality is that the athletic scholarship is paying their way. Most student athletes excel in the class room anyway (as well as on the field/court)...so they choose the school where they think or told they can play. Not everyone can be a starter, but the other-all experience has to be worth it to stay. 2) Reserve become "reserves" when other transfers are brought in (which is something recruits cannot measure when committing as sophomores/juniors in high school)..so the cycle continues.
