Despite the loss of only Higgins and DS, Marlee Davis. I don't see us competing in the PAC - 12 next year. Definitely, a rebuilding year on the Outsides and the setter position.

Yeah they will be bad, unless they bring in a transfer setter or another Hana Cutura type foreign player. Higgins is a huge loss.

Cal has hitters who can score. Schonewise and Vukasovic are beasts, I could also see Jordan and Smith-Gooden being effective terminators when put in the right situations. They need a setter though, and they also need a receiver-attacker. Neumayr would have made them a lot better this year.

CAL won't lose nearly as many matches next season the usual suspects will be at the top but the middle is taking a serious hit to graduation. I don't see Cal being as bad the only place to go is up. If they schedule right and win a few matches they could make the tourney. They have a stud in Schonewise. Their other hitters need to do more and the setting needs to get better.

She was never more than shadow of her former self in college. Without the knee injuries, she would have been amazing. Jensen, the setter, was the #35 senior ace in 2013. She just hasn't panned out as well as her ranking.

Who does Cal have coming in? Belen Castillo and Savannah Rennie. Rennie is good but not Senior Higgins good.

Cal needs passing, serving, ability to terminate from all of the above. The glaring thing to me about Cal was that they gave up a .293 opponent's hitting percentage in conference. 0.293!!! UW hit .294 in conference, so basically every team in the conference hit like Vansant and crew against them.

I wasn't able to follow this season, but based on stats, aside from Higgins they were pretty young and inconsistent on the outside. Did they have a set line-up and can someone provide a synopsis on their overall body of work? Neumayr was definitely a Huge loss and I am familiar with the play of Schonewise, Vukasovic and Maddy Kerr. But it seems that the outside positions were Musical chairs all season, outside of Higgins. Jenses was a back-up to Joan Caloiaro last year. Ashten Smith-Gooden was highly recruited as the #5 recruit, but didn't seem to really deliver as everyone would have expected.
