At the risk of hacking off lots of PSU fans, let me say this. Courtney had a great run in the Final Four, and I'm happy for her. But it was not a stellar year for her overall. She can do it all, but was inconsistent on the front row until the very end. I hope she breaks into the ranks of All Americans her Senior year, but with all the front row talent at Penn St., I would guess her primary role would be defense, where she is superb. I'm also still very concerned about the libero spot.

Any chance her/Burgess are possibly training with the national team? I don't think that their offense is national team worthy, but they are two of the most solid defenders/passers in the country.

Megan Courtney was a "force" is every sense of the word for most all of the NCAA Push . Front row attacking and shut-down blocker, back row (passing ,defense and attacking.....if you didn't see) she did it all. As far as the National team.....I'll leave that to the experts but she certainly would be a nice O2 Libero? Got it covered Friend.

What players, especially outside hitter 1st team AA's did she have a better "regular season"" than? You believe there are "several" would be interested to know who they are.

And it's not even close.

Secondly you don't have the stats to prove that "it isnt even close" I agree with you 100% regarding what a great player and what a terrific season she had. I just think you are going to far to make that point. Courtney like so many other great PSU players in the past is the victim of having 3-4 players on her own team that are going to be recognized first. I think she could have been an all-american but having way better stats, and seasons than several first team AA's is in my opinion going a little too far.

Courtney having BETTER stats than 1st team AAs, Burgess and Eckerman, is a fact. It was a response to a poster who said Courtney did NOT have "stellar" year. Now that's going "too far." Why don't you tell him that he is going "too far." But instead, you are splitting hair with me with words "several" vs. "two." Why, you thought I was going to say Courtney had a better year than Lowe and Vansant? Of course not. I didn't just start following Penn State and womens volleyball THIS year. I think with your vast knowledge of womens volleyball, it would be better and more productive of you not to dig yourself deep down into the weeds like this. Just leave it for us mere mortals to argue instead.

Courtney wasn't even an Honorable Mention All-America. She had better stats that some second and third team honorees, as well. I think what kept her from being recognized was the embarrassment of riches that PSU "suffers" from. I was happy to see her have an outstanding Final Four and get some well-deserved recognition. During her post game interviews she only made herself and the PSU program look even better. I hope she meshes well with next season's setter(s).

A championship ring and tournament MOP is not a bad haul. I'm sure most of the 1st team AA outsides would gladly trade places with her. Courtney wasn't even an Honorable Mention All-America. She may not have been a 1st team AA with stats, but she should have been second, or worst case third team AA. PSU just had too much talent on the front, but as Micha drove the bus, Courtney was a no-frills consistent 6 rotation player that was the glue or stabilizer for PSU, and would be a star on most other top 20 teams.

I don't like demeaning other recognized players for being named AA status. My point was to say that Megan demonstrated that she CAN go to another level when called upon and it was certainly at the most important time of the year. She was asked to make adjustments in the middle of the year and was integral in her team's success. Her skill sets, demeanor and court awareness are certainly at a superior level among her peers and I think the future is very very bright for her. She certainly has potential for the next level.

You guys are going to love Rivera. Just letting you know. Weiskircher yes is the starting setter for the next 7 months and 25 days. Have fun while it lasts. Post some video that I can see cause from the stuff I've watched she doesn't look better the Brianna. Maybe I'm not watching right video Here you can watch a game. Puerto Rico (3) vs Dominican Republic (2) Wilmarie Rivera - Red Shirt #11 Wilma is a lefty and also is a strong hitter! Take your time and watch this game. 8:46 just amazing!
