If PSU can get quality setting they will probably be the favorite to repeat, otherwise the season could be a donnybrook event. The roster is loaded with athletic ladies who can play multiple positions. Very Interesting situation. great insight!

You don't seem to have any expectations for Reed. I thought her rehab was on schedule. Look all of what I said is speculation based on guess work around what I have seen, heard, read and feel about this crew over the past year. . . . That being said it is probably best to follow Edgar Allen Poe's advice on what we all hear and see, which is probably sounds advise for most everything that is written on vtalk. I'll admit I had to look that up. But I only believed half of what I read. I hear even that percentage may be too trusting.

OTOH I trust your "Dignittany" website to be very reliable and really appreciate the work you put into it.

What about the third where she was blocked four times, hit another ball long, and only registered one kill? regardless of what she did in the third, she played a HUGE role in winning that match by giving them a big lift and energy. She did EVERYTHING you would want a player to do coming in off the bench. That performance says a lot about her mentally, it had been a while since she was on the floor in a critical match, she was ready, and she sure as heck wasn't afraid. You want subs to be able to spell a player who is struggling and interject some energy to the group on the floor, I give Lee an A plus on both. Correct... Again, if you paid attention to the other posts quoted in this discussion, you would see that I am only debating the idea that "Wisconsin had no defense" for Lee. That's not true. They were able to force her into errors in the third and fourth sets pretty easily (I believe an injured Carlini had three blocks on her herself in that third set). I said that her biggest contributions to that match were not her 12 kills and 7 errors, but her intangible contributions like her energy, her communication, her fire, her body language/eye contact, etc. She was a huge spark off the bench, just like I thought Prieto-Cerame was, though she was used more situationally, in the Regional Final in 2013 against Stanford.

I will guarantee you that to most who saw that match remembered Lee as having made numerous key kills, blocks, and hustles more than the "intangibles" (Eye contact? Really?) you are talking about. Not taking away her intangibles, but she was more than that in that match.

The Lions are most effective when they points from all front row positions so with Franti struggling the offense was struggling. When Lee came in the offense was attacking from the left side and became fully operational. The secret to PSU has been there ability to find ways to win even when the players don't have their "A" game.

No. I truly believe the Lions would have won that match regardless of the injuries or sickness. I think the Badgers won the first set due to the adrenaline from the Wisconsin's side after seeing Carlini went down. I don't think Wisconsin would have won even if Carlini was healthy the entire game. Penn State had just too many firepower.

You are welcome to your belief; I'm glad PSU won and that Frantti recovered for her next two matches. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

Only a Pac-12 team will be able to stop them from repeating. I think there are a handful of teams who could prevent that from happening.
