In RPI, I figure PSU might move up to third? Fourth?

I thought USC got in every AVCA poll, no matter their record.

The Washington/Nebraska/UNC placement will be the most interesting. I think Arkansas Little Rock might squeeze in.

Alabama will not be ranked considering they almost lost in the First Round to Samford. Purdue not making the tournament will be interesting where the committee places them. I doubt they will be rank. Which opens spots to both LSU and UALR, who won over Kansas 3-2 and almost took down Oregon State in 4 sets, before eventually losing 19-17 in the fifth.

How does a late season injury impact the ranking? UDub suffered from Beals' season ending injury. With Beals I think UDub would have been in the finals.

What did Texas do in tournament or regular season to earn a top four rank? The Big 12 was very average despite RPI hoax.

Texas was ranked 6th in the latest poll, they made the National semi finals- They deserve to be in the top 4 in the final ranking. But they didn't beat any of the teams previously ranked above them to get there. I have a feeling the final four teams will get ranked as the top four, but you can see an argument against it given how the seedings worked out relative to the AVCA rankings.

In RPI, I figure PSU might move up to third? Fourth? If they did a Post Tournament RPI - it would look something like this.
1. Stanford 2. Texas 3. Florida State 4. Wisconsin 5. Washington 6. North Carolina 7. Penn State 8. Florida 9. BYU 10. Nebraska 11. Illinois 12. Colorado State 13. Oregon 14. Kansas 15. UCLA 16. Iowa State 17. Kentucky 18. Arizona 19. Ohio State 20. Miami-FL 21. Duke 22. USC 23. Illinois State 24. Oregon State 25. Texas A&M
The success of the Big Ten in the tournament would have had little impact on Purdue/Minnesota's RPI - still would have been in the 50's.

I also wonder how Nebraska gets ranked above Illinois given that Illinois beat them twice and had a better record. The difference is one match - lost by Illinois in a close 5 set match to a highly ranked Florida, and won by Nebraska against an arguably hobbled Washington. Do the coaches simply follow final four, elite eight etc from the tournament in their final rankings?

Thanks for running that. I know there's no subjectivity to it.
It sure doesn't match results.
I wonder if the NCAA cares?

Interesting to debate the final standings, but, really, isn't this the most meaningless poll of the year?
