week 11 active greg petty nick goodell zack melcher (L/Fr) michael saeta kevin donohue pierre tang-taye enzo mackenzie sit omar rivera miles johnson can i do a last minute switch? its looking like goodell is gonna be out for a couple weeks with his ankle injury. can i put in rivera in place of goodell? if not, if it's too late, then no worries. just cross my fingers that goodell is healthy enough to play this week... thanks! No games have been played yet this week and given that we're playing one another, it seems fine by me. Unless someone else has a issue, i'll switch when I log on next.

Results from the final week are in.
VolleyballFreak808 5 PanicVB 0 (in the 7th place finals)
Middleman 3 VolleyballBro 2 (in the 5th place finals)
Swaneys14 3 EastCoastVB 2 (in the 3rd place finals)
UCSDFan 4 CubicleNoMore 1 (in the finals)
It was the craziest fantasy season yet with coaches juggling lineups more than normal and many matches that went five or went three with the coahc pulling his starters after the first. That generated havoc in the weekly outcomes for our league.
Thanks to everyone who stuck with it and submitted lineups and modified their rosters. I hope we can get eight committed people for next season, and apply the modifed rules that have been bantered around throughout this thread. If possibly, I'd prefer to just be stat-keeper next season rather than participate. While drafting after everybody had finished picking their rosters seemed to put my team at a disadvantage (certainly that was my thought jumping in late), I think there were two significant advantages I didn't realize until later. (1) I knew the positional rosters of everyone when I drafted, so I was able to select a team of players at positons that were built to exploit other rosters. Specifically, the draft was setter-heavy, so I selected only one true setter. While I often lost in assists most weeks, I did well in the other four areas. (2) In trying to drudge up nine players after you had collectively taken 81 players, I knew very well who was available when it came time to make my roster moves.
So if we can get eight people who will committ to a league next season with a draft of roughly December 28-30, we can run for 14 weeks and have everyone match up twice. The idea of a "real" lineup seemed quite popular, so let's make that a rule for next year. I'd really like to make only D1 and D2 matches count next season, because it was an absolute pain in the butt to chase down some box scores from games involving NAIA or D3 teams . I'd also suggest that players be slotted by position by what they physically played in their most recent full matches. So, for instance, I had Brian Rogan this year who was listed as a setter on their website, but he switched to outside hitter about three weeks into Quincy's season. We can worry about this more as the time draws near.
Once again, thanks evereyone.

I had a lot of fun again this year. A giant thank you to our stat keeper, what a great job. Everyone involved truely it was a pleasure to share the love of volleyball with you all. I have been in some fantasy leagues that are cutthroat, but I enjoyed how we all shared information on players and teams.
I was fortunate to read the thread about this and glad I joined, I have watched vball all my life, coached it the middle school and high school level. And got to watch my son play at Ball State for 4 years, so it's has been great to be a part of this league.
You can absolutely count on me to be a member next year, I hope every one has a great and safe summer, and I'll see every one next year. Thanks everyone.

Marcin had injuries a couple of times. Once was a shoulder, and the last week a concussion he got at practice. He never got untracked. Witmer the other outside been out last couple weeks with very bad sprained ankle. So Ball State is going with young players not ready yet. Throwing young players in the fire early doesn't always work out so well. They hope to get them both back before playoffs.

Congrats again ucsdfan! Another good, competitive year. Count me again in for next year when we change the lineup positions to reflect player positions!
