Really crossing my fingers that Molly decides to go to Illinois. She is an elite hitter, reminds me a little of Kelsey Robinson from Nebraska. I think she has a lot more promise than the current OH 2016 recruits we have now. Hope we have a scholarship for that young lady, she is worth it. I agree. From what CT said in the latest Prep Volleyball article, Molly took over in the game against Legacy and helped pull out a 3-1 victory in this weekend's Sports Performance tournament. She would fill a most critical roster position and really push this Illini team to an even higher level. Does anyone know if Hambly is actually recruiting her or is this all VT speculation?

So it looks like we are most likely not gonna get Molly. Illini just got another 2017 commit Emily Hollowell. She is a middle and now that is 5 2017 recruits. Its unlikely that theres going to be enough scholarship for Molly to join at this point. I really hope this Emily girl is good, tried to look her up can't really fins anything on her.

6'3" outside on Lone Star 16 Elite. She's good, but not Molly Haggerty good at this point of her career.

I wouldn't give up on Haggerty. It's possible a player in the 2016 class may redshirt. Given that there is only one player in the Class of '14 (Donnelly), Hambly has some scholarships to work with in 2016 and 2017. Illinois really needs a middle hitter or two, though.
Class of 2015 Beth Prince, 6’3”, OH (IN) Allison Bastianelli, 6’2”, MH (MI) Jordyn Poulter, 6’2”, S (CO)
Class of 2016 Jackie Quade, 6’2”, OH (IN) Kaylin Korte, 6’0”, OH (IL) Caroline Welsh, 5’8” L (GA)
Class of 2017 Marijke Van Dyke, 6’1” OH (IN) Megan Cooney, 6’4” MH (KS) Emily Hallowell, 6’3, OH (TX)
Class of 2018 Diana Brown, 6’1”, S (OH)

So there maybe hope, but you are missing Anikka so thats four scholarships already in that class. But yes we do need to get more middles. We are relying on Stadick and Bastianelli to be middles for the next two years. If one, or both, get injured we do not really have anyone to play that spot. Cooney should be a good addition, she seems like she is at top of her class. I do worry what they are going to do with Kaylin Korte though I've watched film and I'm not sure if she is Big Ten material. The class of 2016 really needs a OH thats a six rotation player, Molly would be a perfect addition. It's interesting how recruiting is going more further than just the midwest.

Fairly certain Gereau was recruited as a backcourt player. With backcourt players, they are often given scholarships as available. Welsh will receive a scholarship before Annika.

I believe Illinois has only 3 2017 committed recruits. Annika is a 2016 walk on. I am not sure how many 2016 or 2017 scholarships are available. However, I would love to see us get one or both of Lexi Hart and Molly Haggerty for 2016. I know that they were recruiting Lexi and that Illinois was one of her top choices.

I think more than one of the 2016 recruits probably will redshirt. If a girl is redshirted, doesn't that mean she gets a scholarship for 5 years? Am I correct in thinking that doesn't necessarily free up a 2016 scholarship? Does Hambly ever redshirt back row players? I wonder if Kaylin is on scholarship. Anyways I think we would be lucky if we get any of the two, Lexi or Molly. I rather see Molly commit though. I do not see us getting both we already have two outsides commited in the class of 2016.

There are only 12 scholarships. D1 does not permit splitting scholarships, but some girls accept less than four year scholarships. For example, Brandi Donnelly has a scholarship for 3 of her 4 years. I've never seen a list of who has a scholarship and who pays her own way. The fall roster has been posted, and there are 17 players listed, so at least five on this year's roster are non-scholarship players.

Jordyn Poulter is number one, which IMO is very appropriate. Can't wait how she changes up the dynamic of this Illini team.

When will the 2015 freshman be on campus and when can they start officially practicing? I can't wait for the season to begin.

Surprising pick for recruiting class rankings, but based on the explanation, I can buy into it. I think Poulter will be a game changer for Illinois.
