She hasn't gotten chance play yet so no one can know that. People do surprise and shock from time to time. It's been known to happen

Your totally disregarding weiskircher. Who's to say she couldn't pull blockers. You don't know. None of us do. I'm not totally disregarding her. I'm giving credit to one of, if not the best setter terminator in 30 years. If I had the patience and time to go back to your comments lauding Micha last year and the three years prior, I'm sure I could come up with the exact language, spewed from your pie hole, that says exactly the same thing I'm saying now. You are infinitely annoying. Please find another hobby. Not disagreeing with u in Hancock. I'm simplying saying nobody can know that someone that hasn't played yet can be better or not. That speculation not fact

This is "will she be better than a two time first team AA who is the best in a loooong time offensively, and can she be better in her freshman year?" Very different questions.

It is very very likely that the new setter for PSU will be more successful than Micha was her Freshmen year at 25-8 and an early regional semi final loss to UCLA. Whoever it is will come in more trained, have more tools at her disposal and maybe face not as strong an overall league as in 2011. Will this setter be ready to take on whoever stands in her way? I believe so....certainly hope so.

I think it's unfair to say she can't when she hasn't even played yet. That's just me though. Until she plays this year that's all an assumption

If "knowing" was a criterion, then we couldn't have these discussions. The entire point of this thread is to make assumptions. Assuming that PSU's new setter might, possibly, maybe, perhaps be not quite as good as Hancock was seems pretty safe. Just like Hancock's first year didn't quite match Alicia Glass' senior effort. Trolls these days, seriously.

Vtalk often slides into tangent discussions, in case you haven't noted. I do understand your point.

So in your opinion, on what level do you rate Weiskircher as? Another word, can she be great? And what about PSU's new setter coming in?

What was Weiskircher's record against Carlini's teams in club? Did they ever play each other? what would that demonstrate? Not much other than give a minimal gauge to see where she stands with one of the "toughest" players in the B1G. Lot of young players could and understandably be overwhelmed or intimidated going against a player of her pedigree, especially an older one. Furthermore a player in your position.

Did they ever play each other? I remember watching the 2013 AAU Championships, Carlini in 18 Open and Weiskircher at 17 Open. Both were named MVP of their tournament, but Carlini looked far and away superior at pretty much every facet. That said, Weiskircher looked very good but not close to the level Carlini was at.
