ummm Alex Laita isn't on the radar as a top recruit (wasn't Top 100 in PrepVB's 2019 juniors) but she should get there soon. I just watched her lead a huge second set comeback for Sunshine to get into the Gold Bracket - just a stud -- and clutch. She has improve an incredible amount just in this club season. I have to give kudos to Ulmer for spotting this one before she broke out.

She will be great for the Ducks!!

Her passing needs a lot of work to be Pac ready. And she isn't physical enough to make up for that lack of passing. Maybe she gets there, but I can see Ulmer out recruiting her.

Congratulations to Alex on a 3rd place finish AND a nod on the 17 Open All Tournament team. She stepped up a big way this season, excited to see her continue to grow!

Congratulations to August Raskie. With the USAV Collegiate National Team, she took home the Gold at the Global Challenge and was named to the All-Tournament team!

Props to Amanda Benson for taking home gold as the starting libero with the US Team at the Pan-American Cup in Dominican Republic. I hope to see her on the World Championship roster in a couple of months.

Nostalgia for some favorites from the past. It hasn't been that long, has it?

Interesting website update today...Taylor Borup now says #OH/RS", and August Raskie now says "S/RS". I don't know much about Borup, but the Raskie position change is interesting...

Raskie can absolutely thump the ball on the RS and jumps very well blocking. With someone like that it might be fun to let her swing occasionally. Borup I imagine would be great on either pin. She is a strong physical hitter. First day of practice tomorrow, nice for Coach Ulmer to have lots of options and see how the pieces can fit together.

Btw, I’m really gonna miss watching Agost play. Imagine if she had trained as a left side since her freshman year... wow she was already solid on serve receive for her first time being in a major passing role this year and she has some insane hops
