Below is where several schools stand on COA stipends to athletes. I found articles for the schools below but obviously there are many more coming. Please feel free to reply with any updates or new on other schools.
In some places I use "all scholarship athletes" and other places I us "all athletes" but that is just going by what was in the article. It seems like we are talking about the same thing at most schools, whatever % of a scholarship you get (100%, 33%, etc) you will get that % of the COA amount that will be calculated for that school next fall.
Atlantic 10 – M&W Basketball must receive COA, institutional decision on other sports
Fordham $2700-2800 per year, basketball only at this point
Richmond – (no volleyball team) studying what to do with other sports
VCU – $2-4k - Basketball this fall and will come up with a schedule for when to cover COA for other sports.
AAC – Voted to require COA – I think for all athletes if I’m reading this right
Tulsa – About $2500 per scholarship athlete
UConn- All full scholarship athletes will receive $3-4k per year.
ACC
Clemson – All 450 scholarship athletes will receive $3608.
Georgia Tech - $1600 for 225 scholarships – partial scholarships will receive equally partial COA checks.
North Carolina – about $4000 in-state and $6,000 out of state for all student athletes
Notre Dame- is in but they are working on budgets and logistics
Syracuse - $1-2k per athlete (didn’t specify which sports)
Virginia Tech will cover COA (~$2500) for all 22 sports as part of the “Pylons of Promise” program that includes a business suit when you graduate.
Big 10
Nebraska - $3600 for football, volleyball and M&W basketball with further consideration for other athletes
Northwestern - citing a $1 million price tag sounds like they are offering COA to all athletes
Ohio State - $3000 in state and $4200 out of state for all athletes, pending Board of Trustees vote
Penn State - $4700 per full scholarship
Wisconsin- They are in, but they are still working on the numbers.
Big 12 - Conference will offer COA but there is debate over how to implement it fairly.
Iowa State- confirmed for WBB, I know
Kansas State- Plans to include COA for all athletes
Texas $4500-$5000 for all athletes
CUSA
Florida Atlantic - $4500 for all student athletes
Houston - $5000 stipend for at least some, and hopefully all scholarship athletes
UTSA – Considering $2-5k per athlete
MAC
Kent State has hired a firm to study the feasibility of COA and other enhancements and what sports would need to be cut to pay for them
Northern Illinois – Investing $800,000 sounds like all athletes. www.niuhuskies.com/genrel/012815aac.html
MAAC - voted as a conference to pat COA for M&W Basketball
Siena - $2500 per player
Missouri Valley – Will vote in march and is expected to require MBB and a “women’s sport of the institutions choosing”
Missouri State - $4000 per scholarship but has not committed to COA yet
Mountain West
Boise St – $3500 per scholarship for all athletes
Fresno State football is NOT offering COA right now, full COA for FSU is estimated at $1.3 million if they go ahead at some point.
New Mexico – no announcement
New Mexico St – no announcement
Pac 12
UCLA announced a “scholarship seating” program to help raise the money for COA so it sounds like they are in
SEC
Auburn $6000 plus $1500 if they enroll in summer school
Florida – Bill will be just over $1 million total so most if not all athletes
Kentucky - Will pay COA for all 22 sports - amount tba.
Mississippi State – All 210 scholarships will include COA
Missouri is paying about $3000 to all full scholarship athletes and then for a student on a 20% scholarship they’ll get 20% of the full amount the full scholarship athletes are getting.
Summitt League
NDSU $3500 for football, and M&W basketball
SDSU – no plans at this time
