I know that with the loss of Hamson, BYU will have a major challenge in replacating that type of offense, particularly in the D-ball that bailed out the Cougars in many a situation. I've also noticed the lack of a slide-ball offense with the middle blockers who were only hitting the one-ball. If they're without a lights-out D-baller, then wouldn't they have to develop a slide-ball when the Alohi-Robbins is in the front row? Yes, they're great blockers, but the middles will have to become a far greater threat on offense for the Cougars to survive next year. Does anybody have any info on the incoming freshman from Vegas? Could she be potent in the opposite position? Holmsted is a great coach and I'm sure he's working on something. I'd like them to become a perennial contender.

I think I started a BYU 2015 thread the day after the finals. That being said, I have no answers for your questions. You don't replace Hamson, but I wish I knew more about her supposed 6'8" little sister. I think they will be sweet 16 again. I think the positive recruiting results (if there were some) will be seen in a year or two. Go Cougars! Although as a woman of age I am insulted by their mascot .

They will be fine, they return a great core of players including Gray, Boswell, and Young. Their #1 blocking tandem returns.

Boswell will continue to improve and she was their main slide-ball hitter, if not mistaken. And remember, she was only a freshman, she has a lot of time to improve. They will be good, and definitely a tournament bound team, just way too early to tell.

It would've been nice if the press release had mentioned that Shawn was named the new BYU men's head coach.
