Per her twitter. She has committed to texas.
Thats a HUGE Shocker IMO. I swear she was stanford or USC bound
Jerrit may not be the best coach in the game, but I would put money and say he's by far the best recruiter in the game.

That's an unexpected, but NICE pick up for Texas.

Wow. Jerritt really is a great recruiter. Excited to have Lexi join Ashley, Olivia, and Brionne in that 2017 class!

To those have watched sun in person, (I've only seen videos). Is her defense the typical texas recruit or better?

Above average. Not great...not bad. She has her moments where she's amazing but has her what was that moments also. She has also seemed to struggle against bigger blocks. Although she is long and can jump out of the gym, she needs to hit high hands better. This may not be a good D1 indicator. I'm sure Jerritt will work on that and fix it.

Herriot may be a good recruiter, but the best? No, I'd say that would have to guy that has won a few championships in the past decade. Well more than a few.

Herriot may be a good recruiter, but the best? No, I'd say that would have to guy that has won a few championships in the past decade. Well more than a few. Russ is the best coach in the game by far. No questions asked. But I still say jerrit can RECRUIT better. Besides this past class, PSU would get good classes, maybe with one or two top ten players. Texas literally had 10 top ten players in 2013-2014 Collins, Eckerman Bell Hattis Mccage dalton Paulina (Granted he didn't land her, but texas was always her second option) Webster Allison Baker (granted not a recruit) I also believe Chiaka was top ten (correct me if Im wrong) He also gets two top ten players in this upcoming class and another one in the 20's. Also 2017 should be another loaded class. Russ gets the most out of his talent, something that isn't elliots strong suit, but the man can recruit. Plain and simple. Don't count dunning, because while he's good, stanford isn't exactly a hard school to sell. If I had to rank top four recruits. 1. Texas 2. Haley 3. Rose 4. Cook

I am surprised and as a USA fan, kind of bummed. she won't learn to pass at an elite level at Texas!

Personally, I am surprised by this decision. I would have expected Stanford or USC. Would be interested to hear some opinions on if you were in her position (remember she is very intelligent and has great grades so getting past admissions is not a hurdle for her at any school), what school would you choose in this time (not when you were in high school)?

I'm kinda surprised. I've watch some film and she seemed to me like she would have been more successful at a top B1G school IMO. I think the B1G is the conference to play for when it comes to volleyball. Lexi is a very athletic player. She does not fit the Texas mold to me. Texas is more about blocking and killing hard balls. Lexi can hit hard but she uses her volleyball IQ to get kills. Lexi reminds me of Vansant a little, crafty with her shots, can hit from the back row, and light on her feet. I thin Lexi could have been more successful at a school like Penn State, Illinois, or a Wisconsin.
