Are these girls in the 8th grade right now? 9th grade for 3 more months. More than a couple have already committed to colleges so I did not list those players. This now goes on? It is scary that they are scouted at such a young age and I include boys sports also.

I have one account. You can ask the mods. And it's weird that you can't access your first account since you posted from it a couple weeks ago. Like I said, not that I must answer for having more than one account.. Surprise! Some people have 3-4 different accounts.

Oh-oh, it looks like 2018 will be a true recruiting war between Stanford and Penn State since they both will be looking for at least 4 players each. I wonder if this will be a East vs West competition?

I fully agree. It doesn't appear PSU gets many front row players from the west coast or Stanford gets many front row players from the east coast so it has continues to be an East - West rivalry. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

IMO Stanford and PSU don't compete for the same players on a regular basis unless that player is a top 25 recruit and is also an exceptional student. Stanford has to focus on players they think can get admitted to Stanford which seems to eliminate a a decent amount of top players (they still may be smart and have great grades, but do not meet Stanford's criteria for acceptance).

No doubt PSU and their coaches have always worked hard in their recruiting. But, based on geography, they can pretty much get anyone they want up East (as there aren't any local volleyball powers around). They probably don't have to go to California to fight for the best of the best when an equivalent talent is in New Jersey or Virginia. Plus, they continue to sign some of the best from Ohio, Illinois, and other midwestern states.

I heard Salima is a great recruiter herself, but RR is what sells the Penn State program now. Hopefully, it is true after RR retires and Salima takes the mantle. For example, if Washington survives and thrives after Jim McLaughlin, then my hope is intact. Otherwise, I am going to start biting my nails when that day comes.

They compete quite often, if not on most kids. The exception of course being the kid Stanford doesnt feel they can get into school. Very few players on either roster the past ten years, that they both didnt go after on some level. Now they may have been out of the running early, but they most certainly battle for kids, both coaches would confirm that.

I think there is hope for Washington if they continue to retain much of the coaching staff and continue the good culture. I'm trying to recall what the program was like before McLaughlin's arrival. Didn't McLaughlin really grow the team's fanbase?

Maybe you could email them and make them aware of who the top prospects are, I am sure they dont have the access to the same list of kids posted on every vb publication, blog, fansite on the planet. You have listed about 20 kids they should be recruiting even though you have never seen any of them play, or spoken to anyone who has?
