BYU looking mighty good so far. UC-Irvine having passing & serving issues so far and Travis Woloson starts over Kyle Russell

I would expect to see UCI deliberately serve easier to assure no wasted points. Expect a closer set 2... UCI had 6 SE in the 1st set and 5 so far in the 2nd set and some of the serves are not even aggressive.

UCI finally settled down and wins 25-19. BYU really just struggled on passing in the 2nd set and making uncharacteristic errors.

Exciting 3rd set....WOW and the crowd was really getting into it. UCI escapes 29-27. BYU Libero is just ok, not defensive minded like Brinkley that's all over the court. La Cavera was money at OPP

This is UCI's to lose. UCI plattered 19 service errors to BYU, and UCI still took the 3rd.

What an amazing streak UCI just broke. Four players in double digit kills in a four set match to break BYU's 25-month old home winning streak.

UCI only struggled on the service line. I'm surprised they won in 4 sets especially with 23 SE. I'm sure they will clean those up tomorrow and will end up sweeping the Cougars.

Here's the story... ucirvinesports.com/sports/m-volley/2014-15/releases/20150327o9olx2Coach K made some huge adjustments for this match by starting Woloson at the OH2, then by bringing in Frazzoni to set from the 2nd set on. Irvine had a solid defensive night by garnering 52 digs and running with a different look offense. It also helped that BYU's passing was off as well. Key blocks by Benz late in the match sealed it for UCI.

Decisions.....Decisions.

We all love to hate LBSU, but in 2013 when they were playing UCSB we were all cheering for them because that win gave us the three way conference championship.

Michael Brinkley with another unreal performance. So steady in an inconsistent UCI serve receive.
