I sent an email to the theater I have had season tickets to for about the last 25 years. I told them I was wondering if I should stop renewing, because I'm starting to get overloaded with the number of musicals they have been including in their schedule (1-2 year). I know, I know, that's not very many. But if I liked musicals, I would have a subscription to a series of musicals rather than to a group that has traditionally done non-musical plays. “I’m starting to get overloaded with musicals”. A phrase that would never come out of my mouth. Along with, “No, I’m tired of tacos”.

Actually, they offered to work something out. I'll probably just end up going to see it, as long as it's the only one they have next year. Or maybe I will skip it. Not sure yet. One or two musicals a decade is OK for me, but not one or two a year.

(I have been to a few that I really liked, but they were exceptional.)

I'm almost the opposite. I love musicals on stage, but plays don't do it for me. I feel there's a lot more to be impressed by when someone is singing live. If I want to see good acting, I'll just watch a movie. The up-closeness of movies means that you have to be much more subtle and nuanced than on stage.

going to see some ballet tomorrow. gonna be a hot show for the valentine's day. too bad i'm going alone
show last night was fun....after the gaggle of pre-teen girls next to me shut up.
they talked so much during the first act that many people around their section, me included, complained to the ushers and the theater manager. the girls had to go get their chaperones during intermission and then the chaperones and ushers sat next to them during the 2nd act to enforce the no talking policy.

Not an ounce of body fat on that stage! I doubt, mikegarrison you’ll watch this, but this is FUN. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s okay.

going to see come from away tomorrow night. I cried all the way through the pilot's song. It was exactly the way I felt in those days.

going to see come from away tomorrow night. Be aware that each actor plays 2-4 parts. I finally caught on about 10 minutes in 🤪. It’s such a great show. Bring some tissues.
