Hawaii LOSES the first set to the bottom of the MPSF team UCSD. No kills for Siki and he hits -.300. He hasn't been the same since that ankle injury.

25-18 in the fourth with several reserves (Jones, Mol) playing.

Looks like Hawaii will run away with a 4 set win. Reserves are having some playing time, giving the starters rest for matches against UCLA.

So apparently Kanetake is out due to injury but getting better? Is that correct. Garrett came in his place this series and did decent. He did over pass more digs than I'm accustomed to because I think Kanetake does really really well. But Hawaii needs to get it together against UCLA.
They can't afford to lose a match or two. Especially this late in the season. I'm confident they will dig deep as they always have been doing all season long. A bit worried about Siki. He mentioned an article recently that he was 100% healthy. But this was probably the worst series stats wise this year. He still isn't jumping as high as before. I know he will rebound. It needs to be done quick because UCLA could turn into a trap game if our key players don't step it up as they've been doing.

Is Kanetake injured? I just assumed they are resting him for matches against UCLA.

He mentioned something about it on his IG.....unless he was just kidding.idk Has a back injury. Was limping around all weekend. Would be shocked if he played at ucla. Not good. I know Garrett is doing an okay job. But a Healthy Hawaii team with all its original starters is a deadly Hawaii team! Get better Kolby!

Back injuries are never a good sign. I'm hoping he just pulled a muscle and nothing major.

Back injuries are never a good sign. I'm hoping he just pulled a muscle and nothing major. Yeah.....and considering that Kanetake literally flies all over the court to dig up those bombs....I'm thinking it must take at least a few weeks to heal up. Which means Garrett needs to step up big time fill in those shoes. Hawaii's serve receive and defense is a big part of its success. Any chinks in that armor will leave them a bit vulnerable. In the UCSD series.....Garrett over passed more digs than my liking so that has to be shored up fast. But this team is deep and I'm hopeful the bench as usual....will fill in as they have all season long.
