My 18-Elite setter, who is a Junior (2016), was verbally committed since August of last year, however, the D1 school got a new head coach who is choosing not to honor her commitment because her needs have changed. I wanted to reach out and see who is still looking for a top 2016 Setter. She will be at the Windy City Qualifier this weekend in 18-Open also.
Please contact me if interested and would like more information!

So, when the title refers to "Elite Setter," you really meant a setter who's on one of your club teams that's called "18-Elite," not that your setter is elite. Very misleading.

She's trying to drum up some interest in this girl and you're totally bursting her bubble. Some people on this board are so ridiculously petty. Auwe

Maybe she is elite, who's qualified to decide if she is or is not? "Elite" is a very nebulous description that's used quite liberally on this forum, so maybe cut her a little slack? Had a D1 (verbal) commitment, playing in Open qualifiers; sounds like she's pretty good.

Obviously she isn't elite enough for the new coach...

Obviously she isn't elite enough for the new coach... That was uncalled for. Remember how SJSU released their whole roster and just plain out sucked the next season. You mean to tell me that they weren't good enough? The girl was obviously talented to get a scholarship.

Obviously she isn't elite enough for the new coach... Classy. No doubt, that was a gut shot.

Something similar happened to Deedra Foss - she was a long-time commit to UW, but McLaughlin brought in Jenni Nogueras the year prior. Foss ended up at Colorado State. Obviously, not an elite setter, right?

I applaud the club coach for trying to get interest in her player that had a commitment rescinded.... no need to pile on with any negative comments.......for shame.

Some of the people on here amaze me,hiding behind a computer with fake names, trashing a young girl that just wants the opportunity to play the sport we all claim to love. How do you know she's not an elite setter? Because this board doesn't know her ?
Obviously her coach believes in her. Best of luck to her kudos to the coach for helping her.
Didn't your mother ever teach you if you don't have anything nice to say.....

Man you people need to get a clue. The conversation was regarding the term "elite"
My comment is 100% right.
She is not good enough to play for the new coach. Doesn't mean she isn't good, just means that coach thinks they can do find a better talent. Now, if they new coach can find better talent (sjsu) is a different question.
This happens every day as a coach. Coaches make recruiting decisions as which recruits are good enough to make their team better. Every day coaches reject recruits who are not good enough for their program.
Doesn't mean that kid isn't good, just not good enough for that coach's expectations of the level of recruit they need to bring in. There are plenty of players considered "elite" who are still not good enough for many programs.
Good luck to the player in question and I hope she finds a school that she wants to attend and she can play and excel.
