Maddie's injury is a risk. Not sure where she is at with it, but she def. took it quite easy at NEB to keep it healthy. There is nothing worse than injuries for the players. Had Maddie been healthy, maybe should would have enjoyed her experience more.
Mental strength is something else players need to have.

What do you gain from badmouthing players? Why not wish her well and be done with it.

Agreed student athletes need to have "mental strength" but everyone deals with an injury differently, and if you have never been injured before it is very difficult, especially as a freshman, trying to learn a new system. I think Maddie redshirted in part because of her injury. A normal redshirt still gets to practice with the team, weights, etc...... if you are injured you are not doing all of this. A redshirt although difficult (most of these kids are very competitive and sitting out is just not fun) you feel like you are furthering your skills and getting better. IF you are hurt and redshirting you feel like you are getting behind.

They're a pretty decent pair of players to start rebuilding a program like Notre Dame with, I think. Maddie is, IMO, absolutely all-ACC material if that shoulder is healthy. Molly will be a top ten recruit and is hitting the ball harder than I've ever seen her. The two younger Haggertys are still very physical, strong kids with great training, a ton of reps, and potential. McLaughlin would be very fortunate to get them. When you say "potential" does that mean the ability to get much better? Kids with great training and millions of reps are not usually kids who have tons of potential. They are pretty darn close to the finished versions of themselves as players. Now I agree that is a pretty good versions, but if there were to be any knock on the Haggerty's or players like them, it is that they don't have great potential to be better. I didn't necessarily mean that they have the potential to get much better, although I think that there are lots of examples of SPVB players improving throughout their college careers. I meant that they have potential to impact the college game at a decently significant level. Maddie wasn't ranked in the top 20 in her class based on her potential by 100+ college coaches if there wasn't some consensus to that sentiment.

Everyone commenting on this young girl and even her sister coming and going need to understand that you cant just make assumptions. These are peoples lives you are putting you biased and honestly not needed comment on. This is a young girl who made a choice that could very well affect her life for the better or even the worst and you are not in her shoes to understand how she feels and the pressure she feels. It may have to do with playing time it may have to do with competing and playing or not being able to play up to other peoples levels but it can also be something personal that made them leave this program, something that may be heavy on there heart and mind so please dont comment or make assumptions. Just say "ok" and wish them the very best luck with their future in volleyball, personal and mental health.
Volleyball is their lives but its not the only part of their lives.
These girls are strong mentally and physically but they are also human who have to live with their life choices, they dont need other people putting pressure on them to live up to hype because that may be the reason the fall and crash

I would LOVE to see J MAC build a successful program @ Notre Dame as it will just strengthen the ACC as a whole.

She has potential to be one of the best players, and I don't think she would want to bring her talents somewhere challenging.

Does anyone know what schools she is realistically considering? I would love to see her at Illinois where she has friends, family can come easily watch, and she can be set by Poulter. Weren't they on the JNT together?

Weren't you the poster who was unwilling last week to believe she's pursuing other options because there was no article confirming it? Now you're contributing to the speculation?
