I can't imagine Ecza won't pony up to best the offers JLB is going to be inundated with starting immediately. There will be many from all of the richest clubs in Europe.

Finally had time to watch the match and awards ceremony, and my hat goes off to Eczacibasi and Jordan! What a terrific past month this has been for the Tigers: - FIVB Club World Championship (without DLC, CEV CL Best OH, or Gulden, CEV CL Best Libero) - CEV Champions League title - A final victory over cross-town rival Fenerbahce to finish a respectable third place in the Turkish league (Vakif, Fener, and Ecza had the same regular-season record of 20-2). I anticipate next year's squad is going to be even stronger since the team just signed Tijana Boskovic, who will be a huge upgrade at OPP. I definitely give props to Neslihan, who had one helluva tournament. There's something to be said about a defensive-minded OPP hitter that can pass and dig! I hope she stays on for next season, because the team will need someone of her talent in the domestic league to conform to the required amount of Turkish nationals that must be on the court. The same goes for Yilmaz, who filled in perfectly for DLC; really, the resemblance of play was remarkable: terminal hitter and blocker, horrible passer and digger.

Between her and DLC alone, that's a lot of firepower. I'm already excited for next season!

Haut, I'm interested to know if you know why Gulden isn't playing libero for Ecza. IIRC, she played libero during the Champions League Finals. I guess I find it odd that coaches on some of the best clubs in the world freely change players so often. (Ex. Thompson starting the match, but Grbac finished the matches) or in this instance with Ecza's liberos. I always figured that their lineups would be pretty set especially in the biggest matches of the year! Edit: Wow. Turns out Dilara, Ecza's libero this tourney, is only 21. She has been great for someone so young! Gulden got injured against Galatasaray toward the end of last month, and Dilara has been playing ever since. She's a great digger, but her passing is nowhere near Gulden's level IMO.

I've never seen Kosheleva get blocked so much.

Did anyone else catch the hug Kosheleva gave Jordan after the match? It's refreshing to see that not all US-Russian relations are iced over. I couldn't find it, but I remember Kosheleva posting something on Twitter immediately after Ezca won the European Title about how she thought JLB was one of the best in the world and undoubtedly deserved MVP. A lot of respect between the two.

Yup, she's about to enter the seven figures per year club. Already there. At this point in her career where she is playing and living is a huge part of it. She is gonna get paid anywhere, but would sacrifice some money for a better and more comfortable place to live. She in fact did that this year.

Maybe just a mistake? www.worldofvolley.com/News/Latest_news/Turkey/52054/tur-w-caprara---larson-furst-and-poljak-will-stay-in-eczacibasi.html
