Maybe Nebraska Volleyball is afraid that once the Husker Nation sees some good volleyball for once that they'll stop going to see Cook and Co. Jokes are supposed to be funny or have at least some element of truth that you could laugh at especially given that possibly a quarter of the roster, and a third of the starters will be Nebraska players. Come on. A little sensitive?!? I don't think anyone has to stick up for Nebraska Volleyball.

The final round has a round-robin format, so Team USA is guaranteed to play each day.
The other five teams will be made up of the top 4 teams from Group 1 (not including USA) and the winner of Group 2.
Group 1: Belgium, Brazil, China, Dominican Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey
Group 2: Argentina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico

Also, the Netherlands or Poland over Bulgaria. Depends who's on the roster.

Depends who's on the roster. Serbia at full strength should be good, I just haven't seen it in years. Turkey could be real good too though. It'll be interesting. Who does Russia have? I also think Bulgaria has a ton of talent that hasn't come together.. They are so similar to Serbia.

I haven't been too impressed with their dual libero system.

Russia has a moon-ball offense driven by Startseva with high balls to Gamova, Kosheleva, and Obmochaeva--decent enough to make Mick salivate. Bulgaria doesn't have the setter or middles that Serbia possesses, so I'm not sure if they're too similar to their Balkan neighbors.

Bulgaria and Serbia are very similar. Physical big arms, with their biggest weaknesses at libero and being total headcases, generally.
Bulgaria does have the added challenge of terrible, terrible setting, but I don't agree about middles. Serbia's M1 is basically a non-entity on offense. Fillipova and Ruseva together are just as imposing as Rasic and Krsmanovic (or Ninkovic). That might change if Stevanovic breaks through this year.

It sure would make sense. I didnt graduate first in my class but you have a vb crazy state, who loves Nebraska volleyball, and the US vb team is playing in a world class event featuring three of "their own" seems like a good angle to take advantage of. But what do I know? Maybe Nebraska Volleyball is afraid that once the Husker Nation sees some good volleyball for once that they'll stop going to see Cook and Co. Well played my friend.

Little did he know, that the student would become the teacher.

While admittedly biased, I can take a joke. Do you really find this funny, original or clever in any way? It could very well be me, but this didnt even make any sense. Fans tired of watching Cook and Co with a waiting list for nearly 9,000 tickets, over 4k fans paid attendance at a spring game in the middle of the state? Where is the punchline?

Does anyone know which side of the arena will have the up ref? I hate to sit behind the up ref since ref & ref stand block out a chunk of the net and players in that area. When I looked at the layout for possibly getting tickets there was no indication of what section would be behind the up ref. Sure I have a 50/50 chance since there are only 2 sides but this is one choice I'd like to get right. Anyone in the know?
