I was bummed to see that Lucena/Brunner are not listed. Did one of them get injured? Lots of new teams this year. It will be fun to watch although I don't see any of the new teams winning tournaments this years other then the one I already mentioned.

Monday is the CQ match for the Moscow GS, they have to play Casebeer/Montgomery to get to the Q I guess. They'd have to plan on playing Sunday in N.O. so, I can't say I blame them. The other 3 USA teams are all in the MD, so they won't play till Wednesday.
With Nick and Adrian out, who is going to bring any fire??

Seems dumb to not play your own match in Cali to decide who is going to Russia. Really hurts those teams to go all the way there to play a CQ and have to skip AVP.

I think its even dumber for these two teams not to just pick a beach, pay a ref 100 bucks and make a gentlemans agreement that the loser of that match drops out of Russia. Casebeer and Montgomery are going to miss one of 8 US tourneys this year so they can get spanked in a country qualifier and take home nothing

Some weird pairings on the men's side. I know Burik and Donahue are buddies but I would have thought Mark could do a little better. Grotowski for example.
If I were Keenan I would rather have Crabb than Allen

I am always surprised by some of the pairings. Obviously, points come into play. McColloch never seems to do that well yet he always finds partners that seem better than himself. I don't know if Crabb has ever played as a defender. He and Grotowski seem like an odd combo.

It is bad for US Beach Volleyball for two teams to miss an AVP event just to play a CQ match in Russia. Prior thread poses an alternative that seems as common sense as it does simple, pick a beach, get a ref, and play the match with the agreement of winner goes to Russia, loser withdraws and plays AVP.

FIVB allowed the national federations to hold their own CQs last year as there were no CQs at the events themselves unless the promoters wanted them (which apparently no one did).
They must have decided they didn't like that format after all as the CQs are back this year. Perhaps GLM has some inside knowledge on why/how that went backwards.

I'm really glad Jennings isn't afraid to step out with a different partner/ younger partner. At times Kolinske has looked really good. There are a couple teams (with young players) in the Q I'd like to see. Crabb / McLachlin Lawson / Roberts Brunsting / Dietrich

He tried it with Steve and Casebeer I think

No. 2 seeded men's team of Bourne/Hyden withdraw due to injury. I don't know more, waiting to find out which of two is injured and extent.
Lockhead Page have the day off tomorrow and move into main draw as No. 12 seed (originally seeded 13, Q1)
Dalhausser/Rosenthal now the 2 seed

Is there a means to view the Qualifier/Main Draw? I would be really surprised, but worth asking
