I didn't see the documentary and didn't even know this had happened. So asking this out of genuine curiosity and ignorance on the subject. Was all this directly related to Sarah Rumely leaving or did she just get a better gig?

Wow. That is quite the rebuttal. I would at least expect "I cannot comment on a specific situation because of school policies/legal/etc.". The way all these answers are phrased reads more like "yes, I got busted and would like to move on".

The guy should have been fired. When all but 2 of your athletes go to administration with the same complaints of abusive behavior there is a huge problem! And "F#@%ing retard" is not an acceptable nickname for even the most battle-hardened combat veteran, much less a 19 year old young lady. I'm sure there are two sides to every story, but neither the coach nor the university is big enough to step up and address it. I can't imagine any parent in the world sending their daughter to play for this guy. I've seen him a few times since the story aired, smuggly prowling the junior courts for his next victims and it makes me want to puke! Hear he pulled the same sort of stuff at North Texas.

From reading and hearing at least a couple of the actually-more-than-two-sides to this story, it sounds like it has been addressed on several levels. University responsibility is not just to their students but to their employees as well; and caution must be exercised in dealing with the well-being of all parties affected. Not trying to start anything here. Just making an observation...as onfiya did as well.

I posted on this back when it first came out on HBO. This situation is way over the top. At our last qualifier he was getting trashed when he showed up on our courtside. Lots of people aware of this after the show. I heard the North Texas stuff as well. Yes two sides to every story but no school wants to be tied to a story like that. Like the last post said Admin will go somewhere in between and he will disappear at the end of the season and resurface somewhere else.

The term I have heard used is "pass the trash." UNT said nothing and passed the trash to WF. As ONFIYA said above who is going to be next?

I've known Ken as a colleague for over 8 years. Great person and great coach. So easy for people to hate on others with very little info. Not a good nature to have.

I don't know too many "Great" people that act like that. Do we all screw up at times? Of course. But a pattern of filthy language and abusive behavior is not becoming of a "Great" person...Wouldn't want to try to teach my kid to be "Great" like that.

People said the same thing about bill Cosby. Truth is, even with friends, family, and colleagues we don't know what people are like in all situations.

Exactly. That's why people shouldn't go on a public forum and slander someone. Says more about the accusers character IMO.

Truth is, even with friends, family, and colleagues we don't know what people are like in all situations. THIS is so true! Not only is your DD looking for a program that is a great fit both academically and volleyball-wise....as her advocate and parent, I want to know that her coach will "take care of her". Not in a sense that he/she will become the parent, but a coach is a role model and will be one of the main adults in my DD's life over the next 4 years. There is a trust factor there, and you can never be 100% confident that they have the same core beliefs as your family does.
