Why? Despite Oregon being a few more inches rainy vs. the few degrees warmer than Seattle for Sand, I could definitely see Oregon (who else? in the NCAA landscape has the $ for investment) with the first competitive "indoors" Sand VB courts. Why Not? You either have info or you don't. Don't be coy. If it works like indoor practice facilities, UW will wait to see what UO does, then do one bigger and better.

Well, renovated Husky Stadium>>>>>>renovated Autzen Stadium. But other than that? Not so much. Washington Softball Stadium is nicer than the current UO softball facility, but I see on the web that UO is breaking ground on a new softball stadium. The baseball stadiums appear to be similar to each other, now that Washington opened a new stadium last year. The Nordstrom Tennis Center may be nicer than Oregon's. Washington's golf course is very nice. (My uncle plays at it occasionally. It's near his house.) And of course there is the Shellhouse. I don't think Oregon even does rowing. But I have to admit, that endless Nike money pays for a lot of nice toys.

^ the Q being (rolls eyes), which school is more in debt because of it?
Nike Corp. fronts quite a bit for the Ducks, too.
WA public school officials all just met up beyond the Capital Mall there over at the Legislative Bldg. protesting in their one-day strike.
STUDENTS ARE LOSING INSTRUCTION!!!

Oh, I didn't realize you were talking about a 20 year-old building. We've built a lot of stuff since then. I don't get the impression UW is trying to match us facility-for-facilityas your original post implies.

You need an indoor sand facility. 20,000 square feet, three courts, sets of stands going five deep, bar & grill. Could you get right on that, please? Thx.

I don't get the impression UW is trying to match us facility-for-facilityas your original post implies. Well, Oregon built the first indoor practice facility, Moshofsky Center, in the Pac-10 in 1998. UW built a bigger and better facility, the Dempsey Indoor Practice Facility, in 2001. If you want to think that was merely a coincidence, go ahead. Actually, I was mistaken - Oregon's football facility built in 2013 does not include a new indoor practice facility. UW's Dempsey is still bigger and better.

You mean you don't have any sand-only players. Neither does UW. Didn't stop the Husky sand team from sweeping the Duck sand team 5-0 this spring, however.

Actually, UW has quite a few sand players. Chrissy Jones played at the Beach Junior worlds, Tanner was a big-time sand player, and I understand most of the Tstreet girls have a big beach background. Oregon doesn't. What's really sad is that Oregon, without any sand players, beat UW sand last year.

Well, the Ducks will just have to live with the inferior indoor practice facility. They'll just have to live with all of the bells and whistles in the Casanova Center. What facilities are UW "coincidentally" putting up in response to that? (Or.... you know.... Matthew Knight Arena....)
