That's because it was for the little fan girls there for the club tournament.

Goodness.
Just think if other volleyball programs followed this innovation?
Penn State - always in the forefront!!

Actually I was hoping PSU was collecting signed LOIs from those young ladies for future players. Oh well, at least they are building a younger fan base and they had tremendous weather to boot. BTW what is wrong with my avatar?

How many people are really unhappy about missing this event? I am! From comments of parents on other PSU message boards, whose daughters attended Happy Volley, it was a well run event. Hopefully, it pays off with future superstars committing to PSU.

Hopefully, it pays off with future superstars committing to PSU. Between this event, raising banners left and right for winning National Championships and the projected added value of Cost of Attendance dollars to scholarship athletes (nearly $5K and highest in the B1G) how is anyone ever going to be able to compete with Russ Rose and the Nittany Lions?

Wisconsin and Nebraska don't seem to have any problems competing. In my opinion they are really stocking up on talent and making the B1G a super conference.

Hopefully, it pays off with future superstars committing to PSU. It is not a highly competitive tournament, but it does get a lot of players on campus who may or may not be future players, but certainly could become future students, which certainly is a plus for the school. It is a nice end of season event, low key for the most part, 56 courts in six facilities. The worst problem all weekend are the ridiculous lines at the Creamery.

I was being somewhat facetious, although the Cost of Attendance variance could make a difference to some kids who are on the fence. As for other B1G programs that are vying to compete with PSU, I think it is even more teams than you list but time will tell.

It was a brilliant idea on someone's part to organize the friday night festivities and the autograph session!
