Yeah, Moore learned how to schedule for RPI following 2010.
Correction - the Oregons didn't abort the series with the Michigans. The teams completed the home-and-home matches in 2013 & 2014.

Oh, and this quote from the Volleyblog Seattle article: Misleading. Yes, Wisconsin did pull out of the arrangement. Given the uncertainty of the B1G conference schedule, which was at the time being argued over by the coaches and eventually had to go to the ADs to resolve, Sheffield did not feel comfortable continuing the B1G/Pac-12 arrangement. It was probably a combination of the risk to the team's record and the fact that we'll have a very youthful team. But Wisconsin didn't "decide to partner instead with North Carolina and Louisville of the ACC." The ACC tournament is a pre-existing 4-year commitment that started in 2014. Minnesota is the other B1G team. Originally it was Louisville and Notre Dame representing the ACC, but Notre Dame pulled out this year after the coaching change, and UNC stepped up to replace them. I myself am disappointed about the end of the Pac12 tourney. I wanted to see the Huskies and Trojans in the Field House. I do understand Sheff's logic, though. And given that we now have Gillis, that might be a tad awkward...

And given that we now have Gillis, that might be a tad awkward... When the Huskies pulled out of a match against PSU due to schedule issue, many B1G fans here went bonkers about how they were ducking the Lions. I don't think it was true then, and I don't think it is true now of the Badgers. As for transfer players -- that's a fact of life. In fact, it adds spice to the matches, IMO.

Solid pre-conference scheduling by Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, USC, UCLA, and Utah. They know what is what. Cal and WSU have weak pre-conference schedules, which is fine since they aren't worried about RPI, just trying to get some wins. While their schedules will hurt their own individual RPI, it will actually help the RPI of the better teams within the PAC - since Cal and WSU will have a decent record when the PAC teams play them twice. Arizona St., Arizona, and Colorado all have pre-conference schedules that will hurt their RPI, featuring multiple teams that historically have horrific W/L records. While the PAC schedule will help their RPI, they are not doing themselves any favors when it comes time for selection or seeding. You heard it first here. No whining about the NCAA committee later. Not sure about Washington schedule yet - waiting on their week #2 opponents before making a call. Portland and Maryland will hurt their RPI some, but they should be ok if week #2 field is solid.

Washington gets Wisconsin at home and complains they don't get to go to the Field House, and they lose at Colorado 2 years in a row and they have an article at the bottom complaining about not getting to go to Boulder.
Are you kidding? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Stanford clearly has the toughest pre-season schedule...and lots to prove. Can't say they're not getting ready.

Does anyone know who/where University of Washington is playing on the 2nd weekend of 9/4-9/5?

Now that the Washington schedule is finalized, I put their pre-conference in the BAD RPI category with Arizona St., Arizona, and Colorado. Washington only plays 10 pre-conference matches and 4 of those are against teams bad for their RPI: Portland State, Buffalo, St. Mary's, and Maryland.
While it is similar to the weak RPI scheduling of JMAC, I don't think this Washington team can pull off a 30-3 type record with a new coach to boost their RPI with wins. This schedule will hurt them when it comes to NCAA seeding.
Also, if Northridge happens to have a down year, playing them twice early will really hurt Washington RPI. If CSUN does well it will balance out some of the weakness of the schedule.
