After their mandatory freshman year in the campus dorms, many of the UCI athletes move to and live in apartments in Newport Beach. Nice gig.

Hawaii has a very strange conference schedule. They have a 13 day break between October 17 to the 30th in the middle of conference play. They also play their FINAL SIX MATCHES on the road. They will play six matches in a fifteen day period to end the conference season. Looks like they will be in California for all that time. I guess it reduces their California trips to two, having a big one at the end. As a coach, I would just hate to end league with six road matches. I guess they can beat everyone at home and build a big lead before their big trip.

The fans are ticked but as Dave says "It is what it is".

A little off topic.
But,...need two more Big West Conference schools to join CAL POLY, Hawai'i, LBSU & CSUN,...making Sand Vollleyball an all BWC sport.

It is,...but, would like to see two of the remaining five schools join.
What is wrong with CSF, UCI and UCSB,...all schools close to the sea/sand?

6 is the correct number. In my mind the biggest loss is Stephanie Buss to Tennessee. Altogether we lost 2 starting middles, a right and left side (both started), and the libero. And another left side who started about a third of the games. Hopefully we will be better with the new kids coming in! It's funny on here that everyone is worried about Preston at Fullerton. It's not like they were tearing it up recently, they have been to the tournament once and were bad last year. Let's not pretend that this was a great team being torn down. Yes, they will be bad this year, but give her a chance to bring in her own athletes. The group this year will be a rushed last second group since she got hired so late. If the '17 class is bad then we can get on her. In the mean time, I expect them to struggle; they weren't going to contend with the old coach either.

Their roster isn't updated with new recruits or transfers. McKenna Painton to Arizona and Holland Crenshaw to Pacific.

And last year, they lost their setter Julie Consani to UCLA. She is not on this year's roster. Anyone know where she landed?

Who are some of the 2016 commits that are heading to the Big West? I know Hawaii has Norene Iosia coming in, and LBSU has four commitments so far, but what about the other schools? The only other one I can think of right now is Megan Rice for UCSB.

Two more Big West players leave the conference: CS Fullerton's 6'1 MB Stepanie Buss to Tennessee; UC Riverside's 5'10 OH Bri Holmes also to Tennessee.

Tennessee? SEC? Rich conference but overrated conference for Women's Volleyball. The Big West being smaller has a more competitive conference from top to bottom. IMHO.

UH summer session II started this past Monday and there are 14 players registered for school. Evidently one player had not or could not register for some reason. There are 12 players from last Fall's roster, 2 freshmen and one transfer, supposedly required by Shoji to start UH SSII. Does anyone have any knowledge of who is not enrolled?
