That would be great, but next year they have a short roster of returning players. Barbeau will make an impact at the pins, while Villanueva has the vertical. Would be interesting to see the libero from Italy provide some backline support.

Congrats to UCSB's 18th ranked recruiting class! So is Lindsey Ruddins the early favorite for Big West Freshman of the Year? Who are a few candidates for Big West Player of the Year?

If Ruddins can stay healthy she is the favorite for Freshman of the year. Other possible Big West Freshman of the year candidates could be Granato from Hawaii, Adlee Van Winden from Cal Poly, and Kekauoha from UCI who will start and replace the loss of Allison Lee at UCI.
Big West POY early favorites have to be Squryes, Bubica, and Nikki Taylor.

Higgins seems to be bettering her connection with Magill, and magill was already a leading candidate. I think its between Squryes, Bubica, Magill and someone from UCSB. (Who ever leads them in kills IMO). But I think the front runners are Bubica and Magill. Don't think granato will get enough playing time for FOY, unless she replaces Tai (which I doubt) or dave runs a 6-2 (which I doubt)

I believe the reigning Big West Player of the Year--LBSU's Jenelle Hudson--will be a leading candidate to repeat in 2015 for POY honors.

I guess her ability to spread the offense, distribute the ball, and run a fast paced and efficient offense to a 16-0 record had nothing to do with it.

Without Jackson, Carbrajac, and Reid, the Beach's transition game will be limited. Hudson may start the season as a leading candidate but it remains to be seen how that'll turn out. I think Hawaii's Tai Manu-Olevao will be Big West POY this season.

It was a big reason and youre in denial if you don't see it. Its evident who the BETTER players were, considering Hinger and Magill made AA HM, while Hudson barely made regional HM..... Not to mention Magill was going against Ajanaku, Sybeldon, Wade, Lutz, and was competing with Stanford, Washington, Oregon, CSU. While Hudsons best team in their division was BYU, whos setter isnt that great, and the best setter was Snuka. Magill clearly was the better player, but Hudson got it cause the beach won. Simple as that

lol - the discussion about POY at this stage is a little comical who would have made Hudson a pre-season POY candidate last year? ? NOBODY!! Nikki Taylor & Hinger looked to be favorites last year before the season started. You can't (well I guess one can) just dismiss Hudson as a potential POY candidate - she's proven she's a candidate because of last year. There's probably 10-15 players that are candidates at this time. New faces (like Hudson was). I think the only thing for sure we can say is the POY will not come from Full or Riverside. Every other team has a potential candidate - depending on a lot of things. I think LB has two potential candidates - Hudson & Murray.

Hawai'i fans will be surprised by her play this year but I won't. Missing Sunday matches may be an issue but she will be a force for the Wahine this season. You heard it here first.

Is Spindt healthy enough to be playing the front row again? Didn't she have back problems last year? Because if she is healthy enough it will be interesting to see who plays the pins between Hoffman, Barbeau, Spindt, and Ruddins

Despite her inconsistencies during the last few seasons, she shown that she could get it done. The only thing that might hurt her is if she chooses to sit out of the Sunday matches.
