That's good news. That's four more NorCal teams now with conference sponsorship.

Seems like USC is going to clobber everyone in conference. No Pepperdine, LBSU, Hawaii or LMU to give them some conference competition.

SC's going to be hard to knock off as long as they have Hughes/Claes up top. I haven't really been blown away by a lot of their other recruits but they're plenty good enough to clean up the 4 and 5 spots. If official NCAA sponsorship brings a full slate of scholarships and more financial backing from the universities, the other schools can catch up (I'd say Arizona/UCLA are the closest right now) Big West also announced sponsorship: www.bigwest.org/story.asp?story_id=18540Surely we're running out of autobids soon.

Is women's beach bigger than men's indoor yet?

Is women's beach bigger than men's indoor yet? I think if you're counting D1, sand was bigger by last year. If it's D1-D2 combined then Men's might still have more (but it's pretty close)

USC's recruiting classes for 2016 and 2017 (several of whom haven't been announced yet) are going to be ridiculously good. Their 2015 class is good, but not quite at that level. I think UCLA's 2015 class of Muno, Izzy Carey, and the McNamara's is probably a little better. But yeah, if the conference is going to be competitive, more schools have to step up financially. UCLA, Arizona and Stanford are headed that direction, but I'm not sure about the others at this point.

Zoe on transfer is solid. A possible monster indoor transfer and USC will dominate UCLA, imho. Kelly & Sara beat the twins something like 21-4 or 6 at a high performance tourney. They won't touch Alexa and her partner. And Muno hasn't shown marked improvement this summer. I think USC has a better improvement this year.

Oh, I'm not saying UCLA will be able to compete top to bottom with USC. Abril is a good player, definitely. Dennis is really good, but she's a 2016. Nightingale doesn't impress me much. She reminds me of Ettinger, but Eve is a better player. But to be fair, other people I respect were impressed with Zoe at Gulf Shores. Becca Dunn is a good addition in 2015 as well (I kind of forgot about her). The McNamara's struggled at the HP's. On the other hand, they were a swing away from winning Gold at the Youth Olympics against a Brazilian team that included Eduarda. The twins beat Chrissy Jones and Muno along the way. They're going to be a very good team for UCLA. While UCLA doesn't look like they're going to be in USC's class in the near future, they're adding some very nice pieces - to the point where they could contend for an at-large bid by 2016. I've also heard some rumbles about USC hiring a full time assistant. If the rumbles are true, USC's recruiting just got even better.

Is it true that Zoe Nightingale is transferring to USC to play sand volleyball? Really??? I wouldn't call what Zoe is doing as "transferring". She is graduating, and going to grad school at Southern Cal.

The NCAA is officially changing the name to Beach Volleyball.
Sensible move, guess everyone will have to update their business cards.
