Any predictions for lineups this upcoming season? I was just thinking about LMU and I thought that it would be pretty cool to see this lineup.
OH: Carr/Lea MB: Suaava/Mirabello S: Sponcil OPP: Kovac (freshman) L: Castellanos DS: Bush
I think we meed some experience in the middle position, which is why I think it would be good to put Mirabello in the middle. She is probably the team's best slide hitter and she would also provide some needed experience after Keil's graduation. I feel like Lea and Carr on the OH would give us some power as well as height and it would be interesting to experiment with that. The freshman Kovac seems to have a lot of potential to be a good opposite from the film I have seen. This line up probably won't happen, but I was just thinking out loud.

I think Sponcil would be an upgrade at setter. But upgrading from really good (Tedrow) to really really good, isn't not enough gain to sacrifice her as a six rotation OH. Unless Carr and Lea (or a one two combination of the other pin hitters) show they are all around better than Sponcil (don't see that happening) I think she'll stay at the left. Pushing Carr, Lea or one of the other hitters to the right.

I think Lea was developing into a 6 rotation player while she was at Tennessee and Carr had a pretty good spring playing as a 6 rotation player. Maybe one of them will step up and be good on the passing? I just really want to see Sponcil setting because she is an outstanding setter.

Any idea who the potential impact freshman could be in the upcoming season in the WCC?
Saint Mary's: Sarah Chase and Delaney Knudsen They both will likely be starting as outside and setter, respectively. They could help Saint Mary's recover from a horrible season last year.
USD: Lauren Fuller She is one of only 2 outside hitters on the roster currently, so she needs to step up anyways. I hope she can be a stud for this USD team.
LMU: Sara Kovac If she gets the chance to start, I feel like she could be a very powerful and quick weapon for the Lions as an opposite.
BYU: Kiani Tuileta If Robins-Hardy becomes a hitter, then I feel like Tuileta could do very well at that setter position.
Pepperdine: Jenna Tunnell and Heidi Dyer Who knows what the setter situation will be at Pepp because Strehlow will be a senior next year. But, if either get the chance to start I believe that they will do well.

Pepperdine OH: Palmeri and ? OPP: ? MB: Okoro and S: Strehlow L: Dykstra I think Pepperdine could run one of two scenarios: 5-1 OH: Palmeri and Towslee MB: Okoro and Wylie S: Strehlow Opp: Dyer L: Dykstra 6-2 OH: Palmeri and Towslee MB: Okoro and Wylie S: Strehlow and Dyer Opp: Strehlow and Dyer L: Dykstra

There is no way Sponcil is setting over Tedrow. I understand she's a great setter, but there's no way that Black is going to just bench Tedrow and lose all of the benefits that Sponcil brings on the outside. She passes six rotations, plays good defense, and is a smart attacker.

Also I want to see the freshman from Canada (Sara Kovac) play as an opposite because I feel like she could be great. Also I feel like Mirabello could be good in the middle. I guess this is more likely to happen. OH: Sponcil and Carr OPP: Mirabello MB: Kevorken and Suaava S: Tedrow L: Castellanos

I actually really hope she redshirts. I think she is a good setter who can do really good things for them, but I also think Strehlow should lead them this year. That would give Tunnell 4 years leading them with a year of collegiate practice under her belt.

From my perspective, having watched both Dyer and Tunnel, Jenna is a much better athlete. She is a stronger hitter/blocker and very quick. I understand she is nursing some type of ankle/foot injury. Heidi is limited by prior medical conditions.
