Nice to see Broncos near the top. Go Broncos! Why the Bronco love? Mostly because I graduated from there.

Pepperdine will be improved with it being Strehlow's senior, the addition of Dykstra, and the really good incoming class of freshman. I think Saint Mary's will probably struggle a little bit but they look like they will be really good in a couple of years with all of the young talent that they have. I honestly think 1-9 is unpredictable right now. I would think that BYU would be number one, but they still lose Hamson, Nobles, and a really good DS in Withers Welling.

Big fan of Nikki Hess here, nice to see the Broncos at #2 but anything from #2-#6 wouldn't shock me (Gonzaga, LMU, Pacific, San Diego, Santa Clara) I think San Diego might finish 5th or 6th actually.
As a fan of LMU, I am concerned who's going to be terminating. Passing, digging, setting, all the ball control I'm not concerned about. Keil and Dewitt were two really good attackers.

Nah, You still gotta put BYU #1. Alexa Gray the best pin attacker in the conference with Savannah Blinn right behind her. BYU's middles Boswell and Young are probably the best two blockers in the conference. (But Santa Clara beat BYU last year WITH Hamson, so anything can happen). The WCC never fails to surprise me, very unpredictable.

The WCC never fails to surprise me, very unpredictable. Yeah I guess. BYU still did take number one in the conference two years ago when Hamson took her redshirt year so they will definitely still be in the running. 2-6 is definitely unpredictable, but I also think it is a great chance for people to see some names that we haven't really seen before step up and be impact players for their respective teams. Maybe Canace Finley from USD will be an even better opposite than she was last year. Apparently Natasha Calkins will be playing a new position this year so maybe she will surprise. Emmy Allen will most likely be an impact player for Gonzaga. For LMU I feel like there will be several surprises. Carr or Lea is going to take an OH position and maybe they can do well enough to fill DeWitt's spot. Of course they can't replace her, she was fantastic last season. Maybe Nicky Kevorken can do well in the middle. Maybe Mirabello will step up, or maybe a freshman like Kovac can step up. I can't wait to see who steps up for which team in the WCC.

Predictions for this weekend:
BYU- (2-1) wins against USC and Chicago State, loss against UNC Gray should be good, but I am not sure she is good enough to help the team beat a well rounded UNC team.
Gonzaga- (3-0) wins against Washington, Portland State, Boise State I really think this could be the year that Gonzaga upsets Washington, but its going to be a tough match. Boise State and Portland State should be wins for Gonzaga.
LMU- (2-0) wins against UCLA and Virginia I think that LMU can pull this off if they don't have any trip ups this upcoming weekend. Even though LMU no longer has Keil or DeWitt, UCLA lost Lowe and I think UCLA has much more to replace than LMU. I also think LMU can beat Virginia.
Portland- (2-0) wins against Wisconsin- Green Bay and Youngstown State These two opponents seem like opponents that Portland should beat, but Portland has struggled a lot, so who knows what could happen.
Pacific- (2-1) wins against SDSU and NIU, loss against Iowa I think Iowa with all of their impact transfers would probably beat Pacific, but the other matches I think Pacific could win.
Pepperdine- (2-2) wins against Utah Valley and Incarnate Word, losses against Alabama and UCSB If Pepperdine doesn't start off the season like they did last year, they should beat Utah Valley and Incarnate Word. I think they could possibly beat UCSB, but I think Alabama would probably beat Pepperdine.
Santa Clara- (3-0) wins against Weber State, Rutgers, UC Riverside SCU should only drop at most, 2 matches during their OOC matches (Texas and maybe SMU). They should be a solid team come conference time.
San Fransisco- (3-0) wins against Denver, Bakersfield, SDSU Pilepic should be the one to step up and be able to be the kill leader on this team.
Saint Marys- (1-2) win against CSUF, losses against LBSU and Duke They have a young, but very talented squad. I believe one of their hitters trained with the Canadian National team this past summer. However, I think LBSU and Duke will probably take the victories against Saint Marys.
San Diego- (0-3) losses against Colorado, Oklahoma, and FSU I am putting them at 0-3 right now because there are a lot of unanswered questions for this USD. I would like them to go 2-1, but I am not sure if that is possible at this point. Oklahoma returns their entire team from last year (I think). Colorado, although they lost Taylor Simpson who had around a third of the team's total kills, they still return everyone else. I am interested to see which hitters step up for this USD team. I hope Tanyel and Fuller can be somewhat productive on the outside and Kennedy has fully healed from her injury.

BYU 3 and 0 Too much momentum from last year to start slow. Zags 3 and 0 I love the Dawgs but I agree with Kvball18, this is the year the Zags take it. LMU 1 and 1 (I hope I'm wrong) Love the Lions and what that program is about, small school dreaming big!!! PU 2 and 0 This is the year Portland starts it's climb. Really like this coach and what he is doing for this team. Pep 4 and 0 They are out to make a statement, a program that has a great history, ready to regain it. SCU 1 and 2 I think some early injuries hurt the Broncos but they will finish strong. SFU 3 and 0 Don't know this team or program, the city is cool; at least some parts....... SMU 1 and 2 Need to get back to 2012, don't think this will be the year. USD 1 and 3 How can a SOCAL team lose to Oklahoma, I think it's a law or something.

Gonzaga looked horrible against UW, and it wasn't just because it was UW. The Zags had no one other than Blinn that could or seemed willing to terminate, and even then her back-row play was very poor. The Zags blocking was non-existent and their service return was brutal. Projected impact transfer Emmy Allen completely disappeared, and spent the last two games on the bench. Things were so bad for the zags that they ran some kind of modified 5-1 where they subbed in a 5-8 setter to block in the front row?!.
It was that bad.
