I know Florida gets UCSB at home early in the season, possibly the opening match of the season. UF also travels to Minnesota for a tournament with UNI, KState and the Gophers. Over Thanksgiving, they'll be playing at St. John's I believe, along with North Carolina and another team.

I wish there were more non-conference league type play. Six to eight teams meet up at a host site. Divide the teams into two leagues where each team plays every other team in its league. The top teams from each league play each other in a single-elimination bracket-style tournament. Right off the bat, you get 3-5 non-conference matches done in one weekend.
But I guess that's too much time commitment for busy students.

Ok, when I win the lottery (big time) I'm going to build a volleyball center, I was going to give it to Pg, Jr's vball club, but I will have a caveat that pre-college season, it is to be used for your tournament idea, Wolfie.

Long Beach State will host a tournament at the Long Beach Arena(site of the FF, also an NCAA requirement), and it will be in September.....looks like a very competitive field will be there, at least 4 teams over a couple of days...

Beachman, any chance that Brian G will invite Mick Haley and his USC team to take a short drive south for the tourney at Long Beach Arena? USC team could add name recognition and glamor to the tourney, you know, being a 2-time defending NCAA national champion and riding on NCAA streak of 47 wins. I am sure the USC team would be willing to give your girls some volleyball clinic lessons while Mick Haley and the Glamazons take advantage of an early look and feel for the site of the year-end championship. ;D

From What I heard: North Carolina, will face Western Michigan, Ohio St and Temple then travel to Colorado for matches against Colorado and San Diego and another NCAA tournament team, then they host Rice, Minnesota and Loyola Marymount ... plus they will play Notre Dame in the Regular Season ... could be very difficult for Carolina, had not heard anything about playing Florida ...

I was just wondering what the time frame for "hell freezing over" is ;D ;D Beachman, think about it. LBSU will benefit greatly . USC as the 2-time defending champion will add the prestige to the LBSU tourney. Brian G would be able to look in awe of the Trojan athletes he wishes he would have (and could have, going by your assertion of Brian G. reportedly turning down USC offer; though I doubt he would be able to pull in all those recruits). And what better time for Debbie Green to rah-rah with her alma mater as she will be able to reflect on her national championship days in the company of Adams, Candelas, Burdine etc, and engages in friendly batter over which USC teams is better. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I gotta hand it to you roofed, you do have a sense of humor, ableit a little sarcastic and sick Hey, interesting rumor running around about Candelas and her eligibility.......you heard anything......and as far as Brian and ol Mick are concerned, I think that Mick will find it VERY DIFFICULT to get his phone calls returned in the coming years, very difficult indeed! ;D ;D

Oh, and I was NOT surprised that you "forgot to mention' the hoards of U$C fans who would travel to Long Beach to watch their vaunted cheaters play ;D Well, we all know that USC will not be able to contribute much of the fan numbers to the diminishing Beach fans at the Pyramid, going by the very dismal attendance at the regional this past season. Nothing for USC to be ashamed of (we all know that football is the #1 sport at USC), and with the football winning a national championship, more $$$ will be pouring in from the alumni. Now, can you say U$$$$$$C. ;D
