Interesting that Coastal 18's got seeded so low considering how they did this year in the bid tournaments and they have placed in gold the last three years.

One difference from last year is not every division's winner of the classic is the #1 seed (HBC is 3rd in 17's and MB SURF is 2nd in 15's.
A few teams were seeded way too low: Roch PaceBootleggr141 - 8th (I don't follow 14's but this team won the Rochester / Northeastern / East Coast Championships and never lost a match)
SASVBC 15s Boys - 8th (beat HBC the #4 seed in the tournament and defending national champions)
949 15 Black-M-KP - 9th (lost to MB SURF and HBC by two points each so should be right behind them and its unfourtanate that they and SASVBC are in the same first day pool because they are probably the two best teams in the tournament)
A`o a Koa Volleyball 16-1 - 18th (beat NCVC who is seeded 7th, SMBC who is seeded 8th and Ultimate who is seeded 15th so I don't understand this ranking at all)
Teams Seeded Too High:
Predators 15U Boys - 7th (team from Canada that beat no one good in the Rochester qualifier and got seeded above SASVBC and 949)
LIVBC 17 National - 1st (lost to SCVC in Southern California qualifier)
Hawaii Elite 18-SouthSide - 6th (got lucky with their matchups at the Classic so finished T-3rd but should be like the 12-15 seed)

HawaiiVB0630 I must agree with you, this years seedings are waaaaaaaaaay wacked! Don't know who was doing seeding but..... Well they are in Colorado..... So let's explore your logic. LIVBC 17 National has played in four (4) bid tournaments, finishing First in three and second in one (SCVA INV). They also played on one seeding event, finishing third at the 18 age division. SCVC has played in just one (1) bid tournament with a first a first place finish and finished 5th at the Classic seeding event. MMMMMMMMM, your right Long Island should be at least 7th or 8th at best. The rest is politics.......

Vavolleyball it is just a reoccuring theme that whenever your virginia boys arent ranked high enough or are not getting enough recognition you start to bag on all the other teams.

If SCVC 17 is healthy, I see them the heavy favorite for 17s.
Speaking only of the Southern California teams, anyone one else can beat anyone else in a given match. It is hard to guess who should be favored in any match between SG Elite, HBC, 949, Balboa. mb surf or Pac Rim if they played like they did at the Junior Boys Classic.
LIVBC was very good at the SCVA Invitational. Unless they have improved, I'd bet on a healthy SCVC over them.

In 18s, 17s, and 16s open I don't understand why it isn't a simple snake on day one. Meaning why does 9 play 11, 8 play 12, and 7 play 10? Does this make any sense to anyone? As far as I can tell, everything else is snaked. Just seems funny to seed a certain way then not have the pools reflect the seeding.

Hmmm.

Hmmm. For 17's maybe after they assigned the seeds they found that pool 9 would have had three of four teams all from the Midwest (Uno at 9, HPSTL at 10 and MVC at 27). Maybe they shuffled seeds 10, 11 and 12 to avoid that? Doesn't appear to be the case for 16's or 18's, though. Regardless, if the seeds are considered correct, than it shouldn't matter how they pan out in the pools. Agree it should have been 7 v 12, 8 v 11, etc.

They are trying to stay away from having teams play teams in their bracket that they would've already played, assuming all teams keep their seed. If 9 and 10 play in the Silver bracket final, they don't want them to play in their pool also. That's why they switched around the snake at that end

Additionally, you couldnt just switch 10 and 11 because then 8 would play 10, and that is a matchup on Day Three Pool 2. That's why they need to switch all three of those pools at the end of the snake

The first day is usually pretty boring with everyone holding their seeds. The two top teams in each pool ought to both be 2-0 going into the last match fighting for the top seed in the pool. Anyone see any matchups worth watching?

Anyone see any matchups worth watching? I would be very surprised if everyone keeps their seed, especially on the first day. Teams flying in the night before and having to play at 8 am the next morning can be rudely awakened by a team that is mentally and physically ready to play.

Anyone see any matchups worth watching? Hawaii Elite vs. High Line, Seaside vs. Pace, and SCVC vs. Coastal all strike me as games in which the seeds could flip.
