That's been that team's only Achilles heal over the past two seasons. The rotation when Spann is up with Oleksak is their key. When they side out in that one, they don't lose. Rarely drop a set or get challenged. BUT every time I've seen them drop a set or even a match, it's cause they did that same thing. In that rotation, they keep chucking balls up to Spann and hope she can get them out. In my humble opinion, it's their only weakness...and it seems like it cost them another national title. Is spann really not that good? She's going to colorado, a pretty decent school, so she must be talented. Very athletic hops, with a strong arm. But she is short and won't be able to overpower opponents in the PAC. It will be interesting to see if she ends up playing OH in the PAC.

There are some big opposites that are in the PAC.

Plummer turned it on once she started being set higher, and she is just great. Lexi can hit bombs...she will be an amazing hitter by the time she gets to Texas. She did cost Coast a lot of points though from bad serve receive...hopefully she can improve on that the next two years! She is talented for sure, though. Sun's attacks are more powerful than, say, 98% of those girls 1 or 2 years older than her. Its incredible to realize that she still has 2 years of high school volleyball before she goes to Texas. The power in every attacks is just out-of-this world. She made Hodson look average in the 1st set of their semis. The problem with her is that her serve-receive is very unsteady though she still has time to develop it. I would be willing to wager Sun is the easy pick as the #1 recruit of 2017. What a special player she would be for the Longhorns and USA volleyball. Texas is lucky. USC and Mick must be scratching their heads. All along I thought she was going to be Trojan.

I'm surprised Micaya White didn't make it. Kinda surprised that Dyer was named to the team over White You get a certain number of All Tourney selections based on where you finish, don't you? So Dyer's selection has nothing to do with TAV's choices. But you might wonder why those two TAV kids would make it over White. And the answer is...ask their coach...he probably nominated it that way. Based on the ones I looked at, it seems consistent that the finalists get three each; the third place teams get two each; and the fifth place teams get one each, with an extra player coming from one of the fifth place teams.

Yeah she brings a lot of power she totally embarrassed tstreets libero. But what makes Hodson better is that she's better at serve receive and Hayley is more than just a hard cross court angle hitter. Once Lexi develops more variety in her shots then she can be a much better player. She kinda is like Eckerman all power, inconsistent cross court hitter.

OTOH, I never thought 6' JT Hatch could be an OH at UCLA in the MPSF. He ended up FOY. So, here's hoping I'm wrong again.

Iosia played really well all tournament long. She set well on the 6-2 and was LB best player. I think she would have shined even more if the team was not loaded with so many good players. Made All Tournament, so shined pretty bright apparently Norene always delivers

6'2?? Are you sure?? From watching her and standing next to her I got the feeling she was more of a solid 6 ft. Either I'm right or a bad judge of height lol Laguna Beach VB 18's roster. See here: www.lbvbc.com/18s/ Also, I have a daughter who is 6', and Ruddins is much taller. Guess I'm a bad judge of height then

Who are Mizunos players. I only know of Muno, Yaz, and Norene and where they're going. Who else is going to a d1 college for them?
