Now that Nationals are over, let's start the chat about the upcoming Fall season in Wisco. Who are the favorites? Top players? If you are looking at paper, this may be one of Marquette's worst teams. Thoughts?

Thoughts? The same thing was said of MUHS going into last season and they won State while only losing to one team all year long (I think). They will be right there in the thick of things as they always are.
New Berlin should win State.
Brook East has a core 2 that is really good but probably not a lot around them.

MUHS will always be a top 5 capable team every year ... that's just the way it is. However, with the graduations and the lack of upper-classmen, this may be one of the most unpredictable squads I can remember from them.
Btw, I will never say a team "should" win state again after the B-East debacle last season.

First off thanks for starting this forum its great way to follow Wisco volleyball. Second what will the MUHS lineup look like, only returning starters are Roenitz and the M2. Would agree that New Berlin would be for its to win state with zeske, ferrel, and Campbell. Interested to see how other teams stack up after the state lost such a deep senior class last year.

They will also have Steven and Kyle Kraninger back as well (at Libero and OH, I believe). If they can fill the MH positions, they should start the season as the #1 team

I think him and quinn pharell will be battling for POY recognition.

Quinn Farrell yes, Kyle Kraninger, sorry, but not this year (he's only a sophomore).
POY will prob be a battle between these four: Matt Szews, Brook East; Matt Zeske and Quinn Farrell, New Berlin; Steven Roenitz, MUHS

Completely agree with mvc17vb. A sophomore will not win POY. Szews & Zeske seem to be my frontrunners.
Anyone want to attempt a preseason top 10 list?

Any new programs in the state? Any coaching changes? I can tell you that Oak Creek & Union are new adds to the WIAA postseason. I also don't see West Allis Central listed under any sectional so I don't know if that is an oversight by the WIAA or they dropped their program.

I'll attempt to make one (disclaimer, this will be a hack job) 1. New Berlin (returning almost all major players- minus Collins) 2. Tosa East (return of Plaisted family dominance? If they can set they can compete for a state championship) 3. MUHS (my knowledge is running out already lol, Roenitz can hit and pass, lauer should provide offense, see if they can reload this year) 4. Kettle Moraine ( complete shot in the dark I know they are returning a solid outside who played in sting 17 5. Brook East (lost a lot of guys but Szews and Watry could carry them along with tyler who was out last year) 6. Completely lost here tosa west is returning some guys, McGillis and the setter. Arrowhead is returning their Libero who is a good player, probably missing some teams here please add to this list if you have better info

I'll still take B-East out of that sectional, but anybody know what Tosa East has besides Plaisted?

I'll still take B-East out of that sectional, but anybody know what Tosa East has besides Plaisted? They have rohde in the middle who was a starter in the MVC 17 1s, winter who was a starter and better player on the 16 2s, Jokisch who plays outside for HS was the OPP on the 17 2s, setter will be Marx who was in the 16 2s unless he plays libero which he has done during some of club season. Overall a solid team a lot depends on what plaisted can do and if they get consistant setting.
