PSU-none BYU-Haddock Stanford-none Wisconsin-Thomas/Bates Texas-Neal Florida-Snyder/Recek UNC-Andrew Nebraska-none Washington-Scambray FSU-none That's actually 8, not 7. I stand corrected. Also, Washington and Wisconsin made it to the final four/final last year with 2 hitters under 5'9". Exactly. Had texas just gotten past BYU, they could of beat Penn State. They had the hitters too. Its very possible to win with a sub 6 hitter. Harder? Absolutely, size is everything in volleyball. Would you win with more than one hitter under 6 feet? Probably not. But one hitter, who is dynamic and a great player? Absolutely. Hawaii in 2011 had all the tools to win it that year and they were starting an Opp and OH that were both below 6 feet. They were actually the better team in the USC match, but Jupiter went alive in the fifth set. I think they would of beaten Pepperdine. Would they have beaten Illinois? Ehh maybe not, but could they have? Yes. I disagree. Texas would not have beaten Penn State. The way Texas played, they wouldn't have won a set to PSU. Sure Texas had a lot of top 10 hitters. But what they don't have is the passing and setting to supplement it. So without quality contacts one and two, it's really hard to get a solid contact 3. Penn State's serving and dynamic offense would've had Texas on their knees.

Tambre Nobles was her maiden name. She was a 2-year starter and the L2 opposite Gray last year.

Ah...there are 2 5'10 freshmen named Haddock on the 2015 roster. Sisters then? I do remember Nobles starting at OH...didn't realize that was her married name. (Tambre was listed at 6'0.)

UCLA will always be relevant. I don't care if they don't win another national title. They will always be one of the greats!!! Couldn't agree more!

Poor recruiting, strange line-up and game decisions...will Sealy endure it Joy Fuerbringer did very poor recruiting while she was there. Muno is one of her recruits, although she is a very talented athlete and I can see her play pretty much any position with great success, I am not convinced of her being the main setter for a team like UCLA.

I still stand corrected either way. But the fact is that the past NCAA champions going back 15 years didn't have any starting OHs under 6 ft.

Do people think Jordan Anderson will be a big impact for this UCLA team next year? She took a ton of swings for her WVU team last year, but I don't know if she is going to be a big enough difference maker on this Bruin squad to keep UCLA relevant next year.
but WVU is not at the same level as UCLA in league...she is maybe why Olga transferred..there is a real need for a dominant left side hitter

Did everyone forget about Cassie Strickland and Demi Morales?? Granted they weren't the stars of their team but they were still staring outsides on NCAA final four teams...

I haven't seen Izzy Carmona play before. Is she the best candidate for the OPP position at this point? Can she play 6 rotations?
This is going to be a rough year for the Bruins. I don't see enough firepower or consistency on this team yet to be able to put Bruins in the top half of the Pac 12.

That's why this is a conversation. Sub 6' players have been right there, but as long as it's been, its hard to discount this as a coincidence.
