Anyone know when this schedule for both broadcast and live streaming is going to be released? Thanks.

BTN probably doesn't want to announce the VB schedule because it will be disgraceful again.
This is the best VB conference in the country but you'd never know it from BTN. Last year they broadcast women's volleyball only when they pretty much ran out of 1) Football games not good enough for networks and ESPN. 2) Reruns of football games from the previous day. 3) Reruns of "classic" football games from years ago. 2) Basketball pre-conference cupcake games. 3) Basketball game reruns. 4) Football discussion shows. 5) Football recap shows. 6) Reruns of football game recap shows. 7) Football pregame shows. 7) Football human interest shows. 8) Miscellaneous videos of football players picking their noses and scratching their butts. 9) Late night issue documentaries featuring B1G college presidents opining sanctimoniously into the camera.
Because the broadcast channels of the BTN were pretty much filled up by above, the B1G allowed students to live-stream volleyball to B10 PLUS which you have to pay for IN ADDITION TO YOUR $150 CABLE SUBSCRIPTION. And then there was still the atrocious buggy streaming service from CBS Sportsline for another $15 a month that you have call to cancel or it will charge your credit card every month for eternity.
Of course we have that really exciting live score service called GameTracker, which was really bad until last year, when it was "upgraded" and became even worse.
God forbid there is ever an important VB game on a Saturday in the B1G because it will never see the light of day.
Women's VB is one of the best things on TV right now. Too bad it's not on TV more. With the state of technology out there, it is just disgraceful that the conferences go to such effort to keep volleyball invisible.

Yeah, those college football games are a terrible product and get awful ratings. Can't believe they keep them on the air...

One irony is that I think Volleyball would be a great candidate for a "human interest show" like The Journey. Follow a team or a couple of teams through a whole season, get to know their goals and dreams, get to know the players... I can come up with several storylines that would be compelling: Iowa scheduling so aggressively this year, hoping to gain some legitmacy in conference; Rutgers & Maryland, newcomers to such a competitive conference, coming out swinging every night despite being basement dwellers, Penn State looking to maintain the dynasty, Nebraska's and Minnesota's twins; Wisconsin with its huge new freshman class, striving to get back to the final four....
There's a TON there. And it would increase interest in the sport and help them make some money off of it.

I realize no conference TV network is perfect, but it would be great if they had a second (seasonal) channel which could be used when some LIVE programming conflicts/overlaps. SECN has an SECNA and SECNB which don't typically air anything regularly, but are available for such instances.

What I don't get is not broadcasting elite VB games because they're broadcasting the 3rd replay of a post-game wrapup or some boring interview with coaches. Or a REPLAY of the Indiana-Purdue football game. Like it wasn't punishment to watch that game the first time. Yeah, maybe VB doesn't get ratings right now but VB has potential to grow viewership if they actually put it on TV at times when people might be watching. The viewership for the third replay of a postgame show or a replay of Indiana-Rutgers has no potential for viewer growth.

With---count em'---FOUR alternate B1G channels, I find inexcusable that both women's and men's BV takes such a back seat.

Yes, and I understand when four channels are occupied by football games from noon to about 8 p.m. But there won't be four simultaneous night games. There should be room for VB matches Saturday nights after football. There should CERTAINLY be room for VB on Sunday afternoons. I'm not sure but I think the VB programs would be willing to schedule around the availability of BTN channel bandwidth -- but has anybody even asked the question?
As it is, maybe 1/3 of the high quality B1G conferences matches are being televised right now. And the discouraging thing is it doesn't seem to be getting any better. The sport is getting the same amount of BTN bandwidth that it was getting 4 years ago, even though Penn State keeps winning championships and Wisconsin is resurgent and Nebraska -- with the biggest fan base in all of college VB -- has joined the conference.
I guess I get it -- the mission of BTN is basically to make money, and that money certainly helps to finance volleyball coaches, scholarships and facilities.
If BTN is just going to televise a handful of matches, it would be nice if they could at least allow the VB programs to stream their own matches in some non-horrible, non-buggy way. I think the Pac-10 allows this. Last year as I recall I could watch Stanford-PSU over the PAC-10's streaming service, which was excellent -- but that was because the match was at Stanford and Pac-10 broadcast rights applied.

Wisconsin posted their schedule of televised matches (Linked in the Wisconsin thread), so there must be a schedule somewhere. Anyone else seen anything?

Has anybody ever succeeded in communicating with someone at the BTN regarding volleyball programming? If that someone could provide a viable address, I'm sure I'm not the only fan who'd like to add my voice to asking for more coverage.

Which schools have announced? It's odd there are no gopher matches there.

Ridiculous that they aren't showing the other two matches in the Pac/B1G challenge.
