The list shows the players who got multiple all-american honors (exclude HM) and some outstanding players who have only one all-american season. In your opinion, what class is the best team considering starting line-up and depth chart.
2004 S - Kehoe, McGinnis, Moriarty RS - Pavan, Kaczor OH - Morrison, Pressey MB - Cmaylo, Meyer, Stalls L -
2005 S - Spicer, Holloway RS - Korobkova OH - Fawcett, Barboza, Larson, Houston, Maricic MB - Akinradewo, Harmotto, Swarbrick, Paolini L - Miyashiro
2006 S - Glass, Carico, Anderson, Manns RS - Engle, Brown OH - Hodge, Cutura, Hooker (Newcombe) MB - Enesi (Cooper, Okogbaa) L -
2007 S - Lloyd, Zimmerman, Hagglund RS - Faucette, Carlson OH - Lichtman, Klineman, DeBruler, Henson MB - Wilson, Gibbemeyer, Benson, Fletemier L - Mass
2008 S - Bateman, Payton, Barker RS - Murphy, Bartsch, Bergsma OH - Danielson, Jupiter, Murrey, Carico, Ward MB - Delano, Adams, Williams L - (Maroon)
2009 S - Landwehr RS - Billings, Webster OH - Henderson, Werth, Mancuso, Turner, Arslanbekova MB - Jarmoc, Mann L - (Klefot)
2010 S - Plum (Kreklow) RS - Scott, Hamson OH - McClendon, Wittman, Robinson, Hartong, Wicinski, Henning MB - Slay, Wopat, Dixon, McLaurin L - Hagglund, Hahn
2011 S - Hancock RS - (Lowe, Whitney) OH - Eckerman, Brenner, Vansant, Nelson (Birks) MB - (Bell, Grant) L - (Moster)
2012 (Every all-american so far) S - Bugg (Bergren, Dagostino) RS - (Bettendorf, Rivers) OH - Bricio, Gray (Sklar, Burgess, Walch, Gardner) MB - Ajanaku (McCage, Sybeldon) L - (Morey, Nolan)
2013 (Every all-american so far) S - Carlini RS - (Nwanebu, Holston) OH - K. Rolfzen MB - Ogbogu (Holman, Lutz, P. Tapp) L -
2014 (Every all-american so far) S - RS - OH - (Frantti, Marshall) MB - (Alhassan) L -
For class of 2012-2014, they still have chances to make their names in the list. Do you think whoelse will be there?

The number of contributors to the USA program makes 2005 kind of a no-brainer to me. Harmotto, Akinradewo and Larson is quite the trio.

next question should be who would the next best class be since 2005 is hands down the best. I think 2007. 2006 if they had a libero would be there, but nobody on that team can pass so can't have them up there.

That 2011 squad has a nasty mix just based on Micha, Moster, Lowe, Vansant, and Eckerman. Serving, passing, and terminal on pins.

for 2008, you could also slide danielson over to libero, and still leave plenty of firepower (and passing ability) at the OH spots with jupiter, ward, murrey carico

Some solid names missing....2011 is missing Simpson, 2007 is missing Ailes (and anyone with half a brain knows D'errico SHOULD have been an AA from the 07 class, but she was was overshadowed by the big front line at PSU), 06 had Barry, 04 is missing Deesing
2005 would decimate, they have no weaknesses except for maybe the occasional Barboza shank.
As I said in a different thread (which is maybe where the inspiration for this thread came from) 2013 has no passers
Someone mentioned 2007 and 2008 would get to 20, maybe, against 2005....2008 I can see, but 2007 is lacking the firepower, IMO.
The 2009 class is completely forgettable.
After 2005 the next best is some combination of 2006 (they have to find passing), 2010, and 2011

Ah, thanks for the clarification. (This is my first venture onto VT for several months, and I apologize if I missed something apparent to others, and I retract my criticism.)

2005 was an embarrassment of riches. Their two setters would be Spicer and Holloway? That's disgusting. This should be a discussion about which class was best excluding 2005. It's even generous to say other classes could take 20 pts. off them per set. Probably more in the 14-18 range.

i feel like this should be closer than it is, and that 2005 wouldn't necessarily just run away with this. 2007, 2008 and 2010 would match up quite nicely.
