When I did the RPI Futures for the preseason (the projected RPI based on the win probabilities of each team via Pablo ratings for the 2015 schedule) - Western Kentucky came in at #15. After last night - their RPI Future moves up to #12. This is obviously premature - but last night's 'stunning' upset is going to make us look closer at this team. They did return approx. 85-90% of their production from last year and was a mid 30's Pablo team. I think they are a long shot for a seed - but it may not be out of the question.

Well, I saw a really solid team that does not get rattled for long and executes well. They are resilient. Will be interesting to see how they progress. What other matches with highly ranked teas do they have?

What other matches with highly ranked teas do they have? Western Kentucky was 30-6 last year and if I read it correctly returned everyone except Boyan. The clearly are a good team with experience. Tough night for the B1G.

I'm just glad they are beating someone besides Purdue.

Good night, however, for the mid-majors. There was also Creighton, Wyoming, San Diego, LBSU, Wichita State, UCI ...

It's tough to get a seed with only one Top 25 win. They will need Wisconsin to be VERY good.

It's tough to get a seed with only one Top 25 win. They will need Wisconsin to be VERY good. There are several teams, besides the obvious, they can't lose to as well: Northwestern, UNI, Dayton, Alabama, Missouri State. Almost all of these won't count as great wins, but they'll sink their seed chances. Wins will solidify their RPI, I guess.

What other matches with highly ranked teas do they have? History shows they have zero fear of top programs or teams. They play to their potential and compete as well as ANY team in the country. Great coach, chemistry, culture. LOTS of top teams would have lost that match last night, especially teams with lots of new faces, regardless of how talented they are. Not sure WKU has 1 or 2 players on their roster that would start at UW, but as a whole, at the beginning of the season, they are a better team.
