All I can think of, with this double-sub, are the things the Gophers are losing: SSS attacking, H Tapp serving. Are they gaining anything? I would also run a 5-1, i dont think this team has the right personnel for a 6-2. Same! We are also losing Goehner in serve receive, possibly completely, with a 6-2 if we keep Sarah at the outside. Maybe tomorrow?

Gophers trail 9-6 in the fifth. Timeout Gophers.

Just to be clear: What the Gophers are running tonight isn't a 6-2, is it? Isn't it a modified 5-1?

I'm sorry but you can't lose this match.
That's all I'm going to say.

Welp. The loss hurts, but props to Daly, Sarah, and Paige, all of whom seemed to have pretty good hitting nights. Molly hit only .133(!) but also ended with 8 BA. Paige ended with a number of blocks as well.
Still not sure what the problem was. Passing? Goehner was not in serve receive for much of the match; maybe that had something to do with it? I understand that TAMU is not exactly a cakewalk team, but it sure would help my confidence in this team if we could have swept or at least taken the match somehow.

I'm sorry but you can't lose this match. That's all I'm going to say. say no more, but humans are playing this game & they are not infallible. playing a good team with the same players as last year so they know each other well, while you have new players & are learning how to play together & testing players/lineups/blablabla - i say good work, good result & move on to stanford for the next phase of testing & learning

Minnesota has ONE new player and I don't see how she would adversely affect them (plus she's been with them since the spring).
This was a match they had to win. 2014 was for testing and learning. Time for results.
(I won't be able to resist replying to responses to my posts. That's who I am, unfortunately.)

Minnesota has ONE new player and I don't see how she would adversely affect them (plus she's been with them since the spring). Haven't been keeping up with the roster, but one new addition probably isn't enough to see to many different results from last season. A&M always plays hard; and, they have several talented players from the state of Texas.
