Which Badger team is going to show up? The set 2 Colgate team or the set 3 Colgate team?
I enjoyed my time sitting in the end zone, now back to my reserved seat for tonight!
CoC has a couple of really good hitters. I'll also be interested in tonight's lineup. Offensively Gillis has been a bright light, somewhat making up for the excessive coverage on Bates. Hopefully she will strengthen her passing and serve receive.
I was encouraged by the Williams slide connection a little, eventually, but definitely it's a work in progress, as Carlini/Nelson, well, it looks like they've been there before, of course. But both she and Duello definitely will have to look and be more confident.
Is it me, or does Carlini have more digs so far than last? At one point she had 4 straight in one of the rallies. Maybe I didn't notice last year because Thomas was right there to manage. She had a lot of attack attempts this afternoon, none of them successful. I think about half were out of necessity based on the passing.
MacDonald, welp, we'll be in good hands in the libero position next year!

So you think we'll see Kriskova back at RS? Is Duello going to compete at OH and Opp? Does Blake come back at middle? Haven't seen Saunders yet. Will we?

I think Duello and Williams came more and more into that match. Duello has a really heavy arm. She also did better on the block as the match went on. I wonder how long it takes those two will learn to start matches with the confidence they end them with. Tionna has to win a joust at some point. Haven't seen her win one yet, and she's been involved in plenty.
There was a sequence where LC got a lot of first balls, but she only had 9 digs overall. Not much different than typical for last year. She had 9 against wku too. It makes sense that teams would make an extra effort to target her now Court is gone, but I think that makes it easier to set up a block too. We've have more length up front, so that should help.

I'd be inclined to try to not play Saunders and see if you can get a redshirt out of it. Especially if they are using Duello on the right, covering Kriskova's spot.

I just hope the Badgers can get a win tonight and stay healthy. It has been a really up and down weekend for them. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case, as they were impressive in their scrimmage, but they are certainly experiencing the growing pains that a team with so much turnover could probably expect. The talent and potential are clearly there, though.

They hit some pretty high ceilings in terms of performance, so that's encouraging. But those highs so far seem fragile, and they get stuck in the lows. There will always be swings in play, but you have to get the low to not be so low, you have to find a way out of them.
On the radio, Sheff was on talking about how slow the team was to adjust last night vs WKU, and how they had to talk them through adjustments right through the TOs and even after. By the time they made adjustments, WKU had already countered. We forget maybe how savvy the seniors (and Hickey) were on the floor. They could coach themselves through a lot of situations. They could win even when they weren't playing particularly well. It will take a while to get that kind of smarts back.

Sheff on radio...Gave Colgate 25 points in first two sets. They're changing everything about Gillis game (serve, reception, hitting) but she's passing what about what they want from her. MacDonald is "a gnat."
Charleston is good. A really good libero.

There was a moment when McDonald and Gillis left a hit to each other. Still some communication errors.
