Yeah not like Duke didn't lose their star player who is more important. lol - so Duke's star player is more important than 3 LB players - ok, whatever lets see ACC player of the year vs two unproven players in D1 and one average player in Brinke. You are such a Long Beach Homer.

why pre-season polls are deceiving. Is UNC underachieving, or is the pre-season poll a guessing game? On the surface they are a top 7 team 0-2, but they lose on the road to USC coached by a hall of famer, and a team that was in the title match a year ago. Whats wrong with UNC? Nothing. Duke losing to LBSU doesnt surprise me at all. Nothing that happens in week 1 surprises me. Still, UNC felt like they had a chance in both of those games. Duke wanted to beat the Beach. FSU certainly didn't want to go down to Colorado. Regardless of preseason polls, not a good weekend for the ACC upper tier did FSU lost to CU?

Duke will need to depend on their middles again like they used to be. Tucker is an awesome hitter. How's duke's setting this year?

ACC has been overrated for a long time. I really don't understand how or when the ACC became such a RPI powerhouse volleyball conference.
Last year, no one was giving Hawaii a chance to beat Duke either.
I'm SUPER happy Long Beach beat Duke. Great win for Big West.

Nice win for a very young LBSU team with 11 freshman on the roster. Opening night had 4 freshman in the rotation before an injury removed one of them. Time is this team's friend.

Hawaii being in the west has something to do with that. If they played Jacksonville, Alabama or American in the 1st or 2nd rounds, things might be different, too. I think NC last year was the only year that you can distinguish that. They were pretty good last year, but that's about it when you look at the facts. Florida State 2011 – loses to UCLA – first west coast team in tourney 2012 – loses in 2nd round 2013 – Good win against Florida, that’s about it 2014 – Jacksonville and Alabama, really? Duke 2011 – lost in first round 2012 – not in tourney 2013 – loses in 2nd round to American 2014 – we know what happened here North Carolina 2011 – loses to Pepperdine in 2nd round 2012 – loses in 2nd round 2013 – loses in 1st round 2014 – I’ll give them this year. They were pretty good. Hawaii 2011 – loses to USC in Regional Semi in a loaded reginonal 2012 – loses to Washington in WA in 5 in 2nd round 2013 – loses to BYU in 2nd round 2014 – loses to Washington in WA in 2nd round

Hawaii has had to face washington two times, at their home court, and has been competitve both times. They got demolished by BYU. I'll give you that. And let's not speak about 2011, bexause that regional was unfair. There was a reason hawaii was voted 5th at the end of the year, even though they lost in the reginal semis, against a usc team, that stats wise, HAWAII was the better team.

Long Beach is now 7-1 versus top 50 teams since finally beating Northridge last year
before that Northridge match, Long Beach was 4-26 against top 50 teams (beginning in the 2011 season)
