It would be a great treat for college volleyball fans to watch Jordyn Poulter set in the Final Four. She is an amazing player...already in total control of her Illini team as a freshman. We've seen many a treat in the setting position at the FF. Is she going to be better than Misty may was at the FF? Bremner, Carlini, Holloway, Spicer, Endicott, Hancock .......... We all know Poulter is a special player, she doesn't need a campaign. Lets let the best illinois team in history get to the FF, and allow Poulter to accomplish something before we get so jacked up. I think Illinois is going to be really good, and Poulter an elite player, but for petes sake, let it happen before anointing them or her. Could you chill out & not be so much of an opinion police? You're right, we all know she's a special player and Illinois is a special team. Pretty sure priddy didn't say, CAN'T WAIT TILL SHE GETS TO THE FF. Pop open a cold one and take a breath.

Expected Wisconsin to drop where they are. Would've loved to see a sweep but it is what it is. In defense of WKU, they are consistently bubbling around the top 25, so I wouldn't, in my opinion, label this as a bad loss. Here's to a good ACC challenge!

the seeding makes little difference, it's the draw silly. I interpret what bigfan wrote differently because the plural form "seedings" includes the seeding of Illinois and the seeding of all the other teams. Thus, it is informally equivalent to using the word draw (formally it doesn't include unseeded teams, which are part of the draw, but I think of tournament seedings as including situations where strong teams are not seeded). Volleylearner this is exactly what I meant. regards, bigfan

Texas in a sweep over Nebraska. Texas has the most talent. I will give you ten to one odds against the Texas sweep. Texas has more physical ability, but Nebraska balances that with more volleyball talent, and much stronger serve pass game. I think it will be a very tight match, and give Nebraska a better chance to beat Texas than anytime in their last 4-5 contests. So FAR, SO good!

I feel that the FF will be Nebraska, Stanford, Wisconsin, and Florida. I think that Texas will choke as usual, Nebraska has great motivation to get back to Omaha. Stanford is strong as usual. I think Wisconsin will come around to be one of the top teams. Also Florida really looks good this year. I think that PSU will get to the elite eight, but IMO I don't see them getting to the FF.

You can't help but wonder how good Stanford would be with Inky. But nonetheless there are a lot of good teams who can make it to the FF

I don't see Nebraska in the final four (pieces there but look so-so). PSU is a given with how well they serve/pass on top of the physicality. Wisconsin hit some bumps but Carlini really is the best setter in the NCAA and once they shore up the passing, connections, and setter out attack, they will be very good. Biggest issue I see with Wisconsin is they don't have the blocking pressure of a PSU or Stanford (when they get you out of system they really generate points with that massive block). I haven't seen Florida but it sounds like the recruiting stars have aligned and they have some monster players. Illinois could be very good but when I was watching it didn't seem like they had an elite slide attack. They definitely spanked Stanford for a set before the Cards slowed their OH's. They will develop well with a good setter. Stanford is another team at the top of the physicality chart. I've never been really impressed by Bug and I tend to think the biggest teams with good serve/pass/set will win. I haven't seen Texas yet so I'm not sure about them. Are they passing/setting well?

I agree, Carlini has a whole new set of weapons. Those weapons will be good once the connections build. Also in Wisconsin's favor they have a very spread out offense and great defense.

[br Can't believe I'm defending Texas, but saying Texas chokes as usual lost all your credit ability. Define choke ? Texas makes the final 4 just about every year. Unless your name is psu it's one of best in country

I haven't seen Texas yet so I'm not sure about them. Are they passing/setting well? This Texas ball club is so talented that terrible passing will not stop them this year.
