Will Ebony even play? Sounds like she's scratched up and not 100%. And if she does play, how effective will she be with zero competitively match play? She's been participating in practices, which if we're being honest, is probably more competitive than any game last week! Very certainly, but true game situations are always important. I hope I'm wrong and she's ready to go and can take some of the pressure off the OHs!!!

When was the last time Nwanebu was used as a passer on serve-receive? I can't remember her doing any passing at USC or on her TAV club team... She was used as a passer regularly in HS and on her 17 TAV occasionally. I can't verify, but I think I remember Mick had used her a little in server receive her freshman year. I believe I also saw her in Montreaux in serve receive during the tournament where she hurt her back. (only thing I am 100% on is HS and before TAV18)
Not saying it is going to happen, but would be interesting if they ran a 5-1 and she played OH2 to keep Johnson on floor.
Mick used her at times, but some would say Mick was desperate.

Take that weak analysis back to Omaha! Texas is the better blocking team! Texas is better attacking team with Chi, Johnson, Nwanebu, and McCage so if Neal has a big game offensively then the Cornhuskers lay an egg in Austin! Huskers may have edge in ball control, but this year gap may not be big.
My prediction is RUMBLE will be on 6th St. crying in his beer wearing a wet shirt......Longhorns in 4
Let me know what weak red Nebraska shirt you are wearing so I can identify you cause I have a water ballon for you !
We've all seen Nebraska's middle attack when it catches fire, and when it does, the Huskers will win faster than you can say, "HORNS DOWN"!! Hold the phone! Nebraska has a middle attack? Can't say I've seen one against Texas the last few years. Haggerty was good as a freshman, but has regressed each season since then. Haggerty and Ostrander were dreadful last season against Texas in Lincoln; Keil was good, but is gone now. Amber's stats were pretty pathetic, as well, but move to middle this year makes things hard to gauge. www.texassports.com/boxscore.aspx?path=wvball&id=7454

My prediction is that Nebraska fans will be looking for a scapegoat after the Horns win in 4.

i don't care who wins NOW, it matters in December~ Sure you care! You more than anyone misses the twice-a-year Big 12 matchups. But, if Nebraska returns to Austin for the regional in December, of course, that match would be much more important. But, no guarantee they square off again in 2015.

why i don't think it matters........ is because both teams will both be at a whole different level by the time NCAA tourney arrives. Winning now won't be an indication of who will be better in DEC.
Should be fun to watch nonetheless.

Should be fun to watch nonetheless. This early season match between Top 5 teams (at the moment) will impact the NCAA seedings and regionals. The joy and pride of winning is moreso what the fans get out of it. How the teams play Friday doesn't really translate into how they would play in December; that part I agree with (assuming that is your main point).

Neb in 4 ... Big Red's strong side attack and Foecke will school the Horns. If they win its because their serve pass game is better, and their setting is better. Foecke may play well, but she isn't the advantage Nebraska has over Texas.

I certainly think Nebraska passes, defends and sets the ball better. I think they may also have the better "pair" of OH's. Nebraska also has overall the better "players" (not athletes) Haggerty didnt digress, she didnt get better, and the setting hasnt been anywhere near as good as it was her freshman year. I wouldnt consider Ambers numbers "pathetic" she was a sub par attacker and a darn good blocker.

How has Nebraska earned a #4 ranking? Ready, set, go... USC is the only team who has earned their ranking, PERIOD. Nearly everyone else was "given" their ranking.
