Creighton sweeps Kentucky (23 17 18). That surprises me. Great win for Creighton after the Jays were destroyed by USC and lost to Northern Iowa. The difference in this match is that last year's starting setter, Maggie Baumert, made her first start of the season after the backup, Kenzie Crawford, started the first 5 matches due to Baumert's nagging knee injury. Crawford runs the offense well and is a good floor defender but Baumert is 5 inches taller and a much better blocker. Also, six-position utility player Melanie Jereb made her first start of the season.

USC might be the 2nd best team in the nation at this point. Impressive resume thus far. Sweeps over BYU and Kentucky, and a win against North Carolina in the first 2 weekends. Big props to Haley for turning the tide after last year's nightmare season.
